no session - all tabs gone
-
Happy New Year! But not for my tabs.. this morning I woke up and see that Vivaldi opens with only one tab, instead of the somewhere between 50 and 100 tabs..
I looked in File - Open Saved Sessions, but that's empty.Is there any way I can go back to the previous state, even if there's no session saved?
(Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon)

@ludobeckers Check your trash, if you're lucky there should be a window with a hundred tabs in there. But yeah, if you depend on that many tabs, you gotta save them as a session for exactly this reason. Opening with last session isn't 100% reliable.

@luetage Thank you!!! You made my day
And yes, of course I'll be a fervent sessionsaver from now on -
@ludobeckers If you haven't yet relaunched V, then STOP -- do NOT relaunch yet. If you have, then yeah, they're all gone.
The pink-boxed files will now be, i expect based on your story, back to virgin V status, ie, only some bytes in size not kB or MB. The orange-boxed files might still be, if you have not yet relaunched V, still their proper sizes, ie, full with your real tabs. Let us know, then more advice can be offered.

Also, pls ensure this setting is off not on:

? I don't see this anywhere in the settings..

@ludobeckers
chrome://settings/ [it will automagically change before your eyes to vivaldi://settings]. Open up Advanced, scroll to very bottom. Voila. -

I had this one too, today. Thankfully I know the better of Vivaldi and made a backup of the UserData - otherwise it would be more troubleshooting than surfing with this browser.
