Is there a way of limiting the amount of data that Vivaldi sends?
This came back from a website I visited
Personal data disclosing your real identity: your IP address, 188.8.131.52 is exposed, which points directly to your location in Montreal, CANADA . You are navigating with Chrome 62.0.3202.97 on Linux with a display resolution of 1920x1080 and the CPU of your device has 32 cores .
Vivaldi does not send personal data!
The IP can be changed by using a VPN connection.
The geo location is often derived from a IP-to-City database by the website's server.
The OS and browser user agent can be changed by a User Agent changer extension.
- User Agent switcher for usinging other browser id (user agent)
- Privacy Badger to block tracking
- uBlock Origin to filter unwanted ads, malware etc.
- uBlock Origin Extra to block sniffing over WebRTC
and do not use Flash Player to fight against site tracking and other sniffing.
Decided to try AdNauseum but could get it to load... Did not seem to matter where I put the source folder and extracted the .zip file (started with my profile, then Public and finally C:\AdNauseum) but always I get "Could not load manifest."
AdNauseum ver. 3.51
HP Pavillion i5 laptop 16 GB RAM,
Vivaldi 1.14.1047.3 (Official Build) (64-bit).
All to do for install Adnauseam.
The following instructions are for Google Chrome only. For other chromium-based browsers simply download the latest .CRX file and drag into your browser window.
- Downlaod from page https://github.com/dhowe/AdNauseam/releases/tag/v3.5.101 the adnauseam-3.5.101.chromium.crx
- Open Vivaldi menu Tools → Extensions
- Drag downlaoded file onto opened Vivaldi Extension manager tab
Ahhh Drag and drop... It was just too obvious, I missed it!
Many Thanks and Happy New Year!!

The security / privacy issue conspicuously missing from this thread is one i have mentioned several times over the past ~2 years... HTML5 Canvas Fingerprinting. Sadly V continues to not protect us for this, whereas [per my old posts] Slimjet has had this for years.
