One of the things preventing me to switch from Opera to Vivaldi is the lack of the "search popup" feature. It seems to be a popular feature request, but I don't know when/if it will be implemented in Vivaldi. So I took the matter into my own hands, and decided to put it together.
It is still an initial version with only basic functionality, but it seems to work fine for me. Any additional testing and feedback would be much appreciated.
The current documentation and the extension itself is available on GitHub.
You are Pluri Employee!!
Today "a mate of you" made another extension like this.
- Even in the bottom off a website, the PopUp appears under the selected text, you have to scroll to view it.
Very good too!
Would be nice if you could consider to add Ecosia engine if possible too.

Ecosia and other engines will be supported.

Sorry for the long delay. v0.3 has just been uploaded to GitHub. You can find the
I have added the Ecosia and StartPage engines to the list, and fixed the overflow bug.
Two new features have been added.
- Using the right mouse button on the Search and Open functions now opens a background tab.
- The target of regular (linkified) links can be controlled with the popup. (This one is turned off by default. It can be handy in other browsers though.)
Would be nice if the text could be customised.
Another request - this should work while highlighting hyperlinked text.
What sort of text customization would you like?
The thing with the links is a know bug, but I have no idea how to fix it. Yet.
@nekomajin Like.. the text size, font and switching between the bold/italics/normal
OK. I am planning a major custom CSS rewrite. Adding it to the list. No ETA, though.
