could not maximizie normally... {XFCE}
-
vivaldi version:1.13.1008.40,
on manjaro 17.1 xfce,linux kernel 4.14,
when vivaldi starts,there were clearance between tabs and border,(the option to remove the maximizing clearance were enabled!)
then i had to drag the window between maximize/original twice,to make the window maximize normally... -
How did you set Vivaldi to Startup?
vivaldi://settings/onStartup -
see?
does the set of startup effects?
attention to the maximize button,it doesn't display in the right way,the window already maximized! -
to be clear, when vivaldi startup, it's like this:
and then, after i drag the vivaldi window between original/maximized twice,
it became like this:
-
maybe this screenshot is more obvious -
Thanks for posting the screenshot. However, I have no idea how to fix your issue. Are you using "Native Windows"?
-
The space above tabs is provided to allow for stacking tabs. When you stack tabs, the tab stack indicators are being displayed above the tab. I'm currently not running Linux, so no idea if you have too much space there, but there is supposed to be space, even with maximised window.

-
@lamarca Uh? your screenshot clearly shows the space above the tabs
When window is maximized, and Remove Tab Spacing in Maximized Windows is set, the tabs start from top of screen.
The problem is that lately Vivaldi doesn't restart actually maximized. Just a couple of double clicks on the top bar fixes that for me. -
@luetage the stack indicators are inside the tab themselves, the extra space above the tabs is not really used for that, just to be able to drag the window.
-
Dragging the windows title bar, then double-clicking it is an even easier way to workaround this regression.
Don't let it spoil your Christmas. It won't be fixed now for a few weeks when the team get back to work.
-
@ian-coog Actually, it does not bothers me. I didn't even notice the space above the tabs until you pointed.
If I got you correctly, Vivaldi does not save the window size. -
@lamarca "Native Windows"? Of course not!
if i enabled the option,it will be like this:↓
but,the spcing disappeared! -
@lamarca
what about this ?obviously,the window is not maximized,but the icon...
why vivaldi shows the icon “maximized”?
or,vivaldi got wrong state from xfce? -
@pengweipro That's standard behaviour.
- When an application is already maximized, the Restore icon is shown, which is what happens when it is clicked
- When an application is not maximized, the Maximize icon is shown, which is what happens when it is clicked
-
@Pesala then which state this window is?
-
@pengweipro said in could not maximizie normally...:
what about this ?obviously,the window is not maximized,but the icon...
I don't pay attention to UI, however after your post, i noticed the maximize icon does change. I will check my DM. See the screenshot:
-
the question is, the icon were not exactly this or that,
whatever the the size of window is,the icon maybe shows the right,and maybe shows the wrong!
it is not a certain one in a certain window size...
it does't show the same icon,when the window is in the same size
(sorry,my english were so bad...) -
If you can drag and resize the window with the mouse is not maximized, it's just that simple.
-
Xubuntu 20.04 xfce 4.14. Still broken.
