still can not disable "switch to the new tab immediately" when click "open new tab"

  • Re: how to disable "switch to the new tab immediately" when click "open new tab"

One year is gone and there is still no simple check box to disable "switch to the new tab immediately" when click "open new tab"!

I like Vivaldi, but for me it's an important feature to select in option if the focus should stay or move to a new tab.

Therefore, until this feature isn't implemented, I will continue with Opera and FF.

    Hopefully

  • Do you just want to open a new empty tab? If so, why shouldn't Vivaldi show it?

And if you open a link in a new tab you can use "open in new background tab", which seems to do what you want...

This is a negative outlook. You might get it in a week or two, or you might wait another year. It's not sure, and no one is likely to give an estimate of when this option might become available. There are over 600 other wishes in the feature request thread — each of them important to someone.

What is clear, is that a minor change to your workflow to use Ctrl+Click, Middle-click, or a Mouse Gesture would let you efficiently open background tabs right now, without any difficulty.
