Minor update to Vivaldi 1.13
-
Ooh, first!
(unless I get deleted like last time, then Olle can take it as usual...)
-
@mossman: I think he does not use stable versions
-
Just 2 small requests:
- For the browser, please add back/forward function to Speed Dial folders, atm. only way is to move the mouse and click the "back"-button on the page
- For the website, please do something that i don't have to go enable "Accept 3rd party cookies" every time i want to comment.
-
No more crashes on Linux, thank you very much!

Window/tabs panel wastes too much space currently. I really like the addition of the panel but in situations where screen real estate is limited the current design just takes up way too much space horizontally.
OPTION to stop saving a thumbnail with every bookmark. Personally I have 0 use for the thumbnails ever and with a lot bookmarks I've seen it degrade the performance of the browser over time. I just don't need the thumbnails ok, please let us have a simple advanced option somewhere. "Save thumbnail" that's ticked on by default and that we could disable. Thanks.

It does for me, but then I am using 1200x1600 portrait. It would not be an issue on 1600x1200 or on widescreen monitors. If space is an issue, then use the Tabs, which take no more space when enabled than they do when disabled.
You can post in the Feature Request thread and see if anyone else needs this.

Option to stop saving a thumbnail with every bookmark.
Agreed. I have no use for them either, and don't even see a way to delete them. Vote for:

Option to stop automatically saving thumbnails with each bookmark, with an option to delete existing thumbs.

@pesala: Just using the tab bar positioned on the left was a pretty good suggestion, hadn't thought of that for some reason
Almost works but not exactly what I'd like. I much prefer the "tree view" of the panel for tab stacks, tab bar doesn't offer that. -
Question: how can I automate the deletion of some specific cache contents (e.g. cookies, cache and application cache), on EXIT?
Shall I always press CTRL+SHIFT+Canc, to manually do it?
(NOTE: microsoft edge and firefox, both have the option...) -
@cail: Strange, I can comment here and do block 3rd party cookies.

Concerning the new window/tabs panel, it's mistaken on Vivaldi's part to take away a serious amount of window space and think I'm going to use the browser. A drop-down list, in addition to the normal tabs (bottom for me) is quite sufficient, thank you.
-
@highstream Hmm. Here, it takes up 2" on a screen 21" wide (24" diagonal.)

Then use the Window menu if the Window Panel does not suit you.
-
@pesala I think it's the Window menu that's bothering him. That's the one that takes up so much room. The Window panel is compact by comparison.
-
@ayespy I don't think so. The Window menu floats over the web page, the window panel reduces the space available for the page. The minimum width is about 220 pixels @ 100% UI Zoom, including the Panel Toolbar.
-
@pesala Which, here at least, is trivial (with both side tabs and with panels open, there is still surplus width outside the boundaries of web pages). Can't speak for sure about other displays. I do know that on my 15" laptop, running Vivaldi UI at 90%, There is ample room for pages (though not surplus) with a panel open, but the Window menu blots out half a page.
YMMV.
-
It does seem strange to complain about the width of a panel when you can just drag it to be small or wide as you like...
-
@mossman Well, you can't drag it smaller than about 220 pixels, which may be too wide for some people.
-
@sangharramesh It's not a problem for me, on my 1200 x 1600 display. I work with it closed and no Panel toolbar either. I use a mouse gesture to show it when I need it, then immediately hide it again.

Hi! In later versions, this one included, scrolling is rather choppy. Like it runs at 50fps. Testing it at https://www.testufo.com show the result: on my 120Hz monitor I get only 50fps. I get 120fps on Internet Can anyone else corroborate trhis?
Thank you
