specific website completely freezes the pc

  • opening this link xhttp://www.internetculturale.it/opencms/ricercaExpansion.jsp?q=&searchType=avanzato&channel__creator=Ruata%2C+Carlo&channel__contributor=Ruata%2C+Carlo&opCha__contributor=OR&opCha__creator=OR leads my pc to completely freeze to the point i must restart the system.

    system: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/xkdRo0PqlcU0hHOpzwI8G7u
    vivaldi: 1.13.1008.34

  • It opens fine here with Vivaldi 1.13.1008.34 (Stable channel) (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro. As a suggestion, however, in the future it would always be good etiquette to obfuscate the URL text of links to sites that potentially can crash a computer or contain malware. Eg: hxxp://www.internetculturale.it/opencms/ricercaExpansion.jsp?q=&searchType=avanzato&channel__creator=Ruata%2C+Carlo&channel__contributor=Ruata%2C+Carlo&opCha__contributor=OR&opCha__creator=OR
That way, just in case a site actually does cause the problem suspected, it won't impact a user who accidentally clicks the direct link in a forum post.

  • Hi, fine here too on Linux with Snapshot 1.4.
Can you please add system specs and Vivaldi version?

    Opensuse Leap 42.3 x86_64
    CPU Intel T4200 4 GB
    GPU Intel GN 965
    xf86-video-intel 2.99.917-6.1
    Vivaldi latest snapshot

    Cheers, mib

  • try opening 2 tabs or more with that link.

  • @urfausto
No problem with 5 tabs open of that link.
    Tested with viv 1.14.1030.3 (32bit) win 7 (64bit)

  • @urfausto Works with 1.13 Stable on Windows 10 x64.

If you have extensions try without and test it in Private Window.
Perhaps a driver issue on your Windows 7.

Please try with deactivated hardware acceleration by opening internal setting at chrome://settings/?search=hardware%20accel

  • -.- wll im not saying my specifications... the specified link is now obfuscated. and i already have hw acceleration disabled.

nevermind, just wanted to signalize it, i don't need that website anyway
