Site broken in Vivaldi need to mask as Microsoft Edge
-
http://www.cwtv.com/shows/supergirl Only plays the video in Safari if I mask Safari as Microsoft Edge. Vivaldi it plays the ad then nothing else. Opera gets you are using a non supported browser.
Site has Vendor prefixes for Webkit, Mozilla, Opera, Microsoft in the CSS.

@gwen-dragon I know that is why I was reporting it, I though the devs might be able to make a browserjs like work around (every browser has one of the site hacks to make some page work https://web.archive.org/web/20120115224842/http://my.opera.com/core/blog/show.dml/3130540)

Found another site that only works if you mask as Microsoft Edge

The problem with masking as another browser is that it doesn't encourage the site's admins to fix the broken nature of their site's code. Masking really should be a last resort and only for sites that are deemed important to warrant it. It's best to encourage the site's admin by giving some needed advice to fix the problem for good.

@gort I know, I am reporting it here since it will prevent Vivaldi from working on the page, and that the devs can do the work around until the site admins fix the code they broken a few months ago. I helped out Opera in the past with the browser.js. I have tried to contact both sites and have not gotten anywhere so far.

Anyone tried and had any luck contacting the web sites?

A screenshot of the broken video player:
I have a ticket with CW #196997

@chas4 Just tried it in Safari and the video player is working correctly, first load in Vivaldi the ad played fine then the show started with audio but no video (2nd time same thing audio with no video).
Vivaldi looks to be getting a HTML5 video player, Safari gets a Flash Player based video player.

@gwen-dragon I have not tested it yet just reported the email I got from them.
I have contacted quite a few web site owners (I did help Opera back in the day a lot (I typed the browserjs url by hand a lot, helped with gmail & hotmail.)
