A step closer to 1.13 – Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1.13.1002.4
-
Bug:
When adding a named tab stack to Bookmarks, the name is default "group". -
@steffie Confirmed on MacOS 10.12.6 too.
-
I've noticed in this snapshot there seems to be a certain sequence of actions that cause the "search for [highlighted text]" to stop appearing in the right click menu.
Is this an already known issue? I can't seem to figure out the steps to make it happen again.
-
@hlehyaric Oh wow, so it's a bug for all three platforms [L, W & M] then? That's good/bad to know. Thanks @hlehyaric & @Pesala for confirming.
-
@gwen-dragon No. This was just through regular usage (no private windows, windows 7, 64-bit). Restarting seemed to fix the problem.
-
I have problems with the extensions which needs to be connected with 'home', like LastPass, Linkedin, Reverso, Instant Translate, Transover, Web Page Sticky Notes, Google Translate, Nimbus but ImTranslator works, as Pocket, OurStikies, Poper Blocker...
They seem to not notice my click by hovering them! (and it was not so till the last snapshot).
I'm using the Mac here at home (and a shhhh.... well, a 'windoz 10 computer' (shorten in WC for the friends) in the office. -
This is a major developer question so I think it can be brought up here. as in FF 58 will Vivaldi or the chrome engine support anti-canvas fingerprinting technology as in FF now?
It is a privacy issue in that with EU smart privacy laws rogue trackers are using this technology.
Thanks.

When you add sync, I really care

Known issues
- Page content selected while using [mmb] autoscroll... because we still can't be bothered to fix it or ackownledge it as a known issue... after months of it being a known issue that doesn't plague any other browsers or software.
-
@koolio it's fixed in 1.13 snapshots, it was already fixed in 1.13.997.3

Known issues
After months of seeing you whine about this issue, it is finally fixed, but you're still whining about it not being fixed.
How long will it be before you fix your unskillful attitude and learn to wait patiently for issues to be resolved? It requires just a slight adjustment of your unrealistic expectations and the cup will be half full instead of always being half empty.

@gwen-dragon
Hello, are there any recommendations, how can I solve the problem with scaling CTRL + Scroll?
Symptoms I have described above.Oh, I think I found the cause of the glitches - in one of the extensions.
It just worked on all previous versions before .997 -
@asires: Nope
-
I suppose that the code re-writing will take into account the huge memory leak - in my case Vivaldi with 4 open tabs and 25 extensions, as I write, takes up 2,18 gb of memory while Opera with the exact same tabs open and the same extensions takes up half of it (1,15 gb)!
-
@nutcracker
Yes, I often get a message about a lack of memory with a free 7 GB of 16 GB.
it is when I use Vivaldi and the proposal to close the application.
before that I never in my life received such messages for 20 years of practice -
@nutcracker: Yepp, same issue here. Been like this for the last 6 or 7 snapshots - at least (before the re-write). The Browser task eats memory up until 4GB. Then I end up with a black window, and I have to kill Vivaldi in the Windows Task Manager. I have mentioned this in the forums a couple of times, but was told it was my extensions. I have used the same extensions since Vivaldi started to support them, and I never experienced memory problems in the beginning. I also use the same extension in Opera, and experience no issues there.
Now I restart Vivaldi once a day (easy workaround).Win7x64 Vx64

@ian-coog Holy Crap its actually fixed?.. ..well I stayed away from updating to 1.13 so I wouldn't know and it wasn't put on the auto update notification.
-
@gwen-dragon its much better.. like how things are meant to work
now I can finally move onto other complaints and suggestions ;P

I wouldn't know
you showed it well enough, also that you are not well suited for filing credible bugreports because you are writing on a snapshot thread without even trying it.

Went back to a stable release, that middle mouse click working less than half the time is too much
