Too bad seems a long standing bug, and the worst part is they get the wrong nickname (you have Y instead of G for google searches, I have W for wikipedia) and all google searches for me are doubled or even seen multiple times.
You have to manually delete them with shift-del

There has to be a way to not show search history in address bar at all(only full urls). It worked like that for me before i had to reinstall, but now i cant set it up...

they have to fix the code, there is no such setting to avoid that.

@ian-coog it's a .998 regression or a stable issue?
it doesn't seem to happen here, but I'm on the .997 build

Is unfixed and in internal tester version, too.
VB-32926 "Unused Search shortcuts appear in typed history"

Yes! I installed Vivaldi.1.11.917.43.x64 and everything is perfect

@hadden89 the bug was there in 1.7 then got fixed and it's back already since 1.12; and it's getting worse by the day, the typed history gets cluttered by searches and I have to clean it manually every day to keep it in order.

@ian-coog Tnx, yeah I saw it sometimes on stable (in which I keep any browser data).
Probably on snap I'm not affected yet as the saved data are quite "small". (Went back to snap/unstable channel while waiting next stable :P)

It's mitigated in 1.13.1002.4, searches continue to be added and duplicated with wrong nickname in typed history but so far I can delete them without seeing the highlighted cursor in dropdown going spaz, skipping entries and leaving extra "X" or even another highlighted line. All this at least on this office's PC.
I hope it's going to be ok also on home PC.
