Youtube: not showing complete URL-address
Youtube is not showing the complete URL-address
unless you are clicking into the URL-field !
I as a new user misjudged at first,
that one had to find some other way to get at the URL.
That is a feature.
You can change this in Vivaldi.
Settings → Address Bar
[×] Show Full Address
you should learn to look at the settings before blindly judge Vivaldi as not user friendly
In settings (alt-p or File/tools/settings) there is a search box, type "address" you'll see "Address Bar Options" with the setting "Show Full Address". Tick it.
Check if *Show full Address" is enable at Alt+P >> Address Bar
PS: time difference between the first reply and the second is 1min

Thanks, @gwen-dragon. I did not think to look in the settings, as I would not expect that the default behavior would be to display a truncated url.
(edited my wording)
Thanks, @gwen-dragon. I did not think to look in the settings, as I would not expect the default behavior to not include the full url.
I agree, its not the job of a browser to hide a url, it should be enabled by default. A url is a url and it should be displayed in full by default.
@ehm I disagree. Show full URL in the address bar is also not the default in Opera 12.18
To weigh in on this: The url being hidden is annoying, yes. However, I think that the tradeoff is:
- Spending 5 seconds to turn the setting off if it bothers you
- Making it easier for unexperienced users to spot phishing sites, as the url is more readable
Is a worthwhile thing to be doing.
IMHO "Show Full Address" it's disable by the defaut to make the interaction between the user and the UI as simple as possible.
@lamarca Yes, Simplicity like in some other browsers. may be because very long URLs may irritate beginners and may not let users recognize the domain they visit.
@gwen-dragon Indeed. I am strongly favor performance and simplicity
