This will not run on my kubuntu 16.04. It core dumps.

Just reread my own post and realized how useless it was. However, I'm not sure how to improve it. The only clue I have so far is:
bigbird@sananda:~/pq$ vivaldi

I am under the very same problem with the latest snapshot (1.13.998.3).
I am on Ubuntu 17.10.It does start with a temporary test profile, as per suggested by Gwen-Dragon.
Any idea on how to solve this problem ?

As I wrote here https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/168405 it's an old bug.
Unfortunately it seems developers ignores bugs and features most requested (like sync) and do what they do.
No perfect browser since Opera moved to WebKit
I also have Opera and Google Chrome and they work fine, but my primary and favourite browser (was?) Vivaldi does not.

@gwen-dragon it was reported by @m.mahmoudian about 2 months ago, bug report #VB-32001 (according to thread I wrote above).
Because of no public bug reports database and no global change log I can't find status of that error.

@gwen-dragon Yes, it does. I'll read the link you provided.Hopefully, I won't lose all my settings, etc.. Thanks.

@gwen-dragon deletion this file (the only one) helps to run Vivaldi. And I have no idea what's wrong with it. I checked online structure of JSON format and check passed.

@gwen-dragon thank you so much! Vivaldi runs fine (Ubuntu 16.04)! It blocked one of extension I used "Cache Killer".
