Google Keep suddenly doesn’t work anymore!

  • Hi there,
since some days Google Keep suddenly doesn’t work anymore.

After working always like a charm (I am using Vivaldi since early 2016), I still can access without any problem to https://keep.google.com, but then a strange error message pops up asking me to reload the page. Even doing so, I can't do anything to my notes there anymore.

Does anybody have the same issue and did already find a workaround?

    I'm on Kubuntu 16.04, kernel version 4.4.0.96.

    Thank you in advance!
    Chipy

  • @chipy
    The site: Just fine here.
The main extension: Just doesn't work. Need Google Chrome Sign in API.
The other extension (note & list): Probably doesn't work either, same with reason above.

    Maybe;

    • Need 3rd party cookies. I never block them.
    • Conflicting Extensions. Disable all extensions.
    • Broken cache and or cookies. Clear cache & cookies
    • Broken Vivaldi profile.

You're not playing with "Sign in" in chrome://settings don't you?

  • @dLeon
Thank you for your fast answer and the hint!
I totally forgot to disable the extensions to find the reason why.

It is the YouTube Unblocker. Turning it off, https://keep.google.com works again like a charm...

    Hmmm... Any ideas?!

  • now that you know what it's the cause, keep it disabled and just use that extension only for watching YT videos that really needs it, if I understood what it's for, it fakes your region with some anonymizing proxy to allow watching blocked videos in your country.

  • Is this the extension?
    Youtube Unblock

I'm not sure what it did to Google Keep alone.

For easy, @iAN-CooG advice is the best. Just turn it on when you need Youtube.

There are multiple ways if you want to pass/unblock sites.

  • @Chipy you may try ProxFlow. See if it works for you. Bear in mind that also this extentions, in some case, can interfere with Vivaldi. Up to you ;)

  • Hey guys,
good news: The last update on Vivaldi 1.13.971.8 fixed this issue.
The extension doesn't interfere anymore with Google Keep.

Well, apparently it wasn't the last update which fixed this issue. I'm still on Vivaldi 1.13.971.8 and suddenly it stopped to work again. :(
