Problem: Twitch Clips stop playing after a few seconds
first of all i can watch everything i can think of without any Problems.
The only Problem is over at www.twitch.tv where Clips stop playing/freezing after 1-10 seconds . These clips are short segements of a person streaming. You can find these clips at
https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/YOURGAMEOFCHOICE/clips for example
You can choose any clip you want, it will 100% of the time stop playing after 1-10 Seconds and wont continue or resetting until i reload the site and it happens again.
Everything else at twitch.tv works fine too. I can watch people streaming or even VoDs of their streams. But somehow Clips keep freezing.
Other Browsers like Firefox, Chrome dont have this Problem.
I would really love to continue using Vivaldi but Twitch Clips are a big part of my browsing behavior.
Things i found in in related Topics about lagging videos and i tried:
-activating / deactivating Hardware acceleration
-updating Flash and making sure PPAPI is installed
-turning off / deinstalling extensions (only one installed is AdBlock)
Im using Windows 7 64 bit
and here is what my vivaldi://gpu looks like, maybe it helps:
Graphics Feature Status
Canvas: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Flash: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Flash Stage3D: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Flash Stage3D Baseline profile: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Compositing: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Multiple Raster Threads: Enabled
Native GpuMemoryBuffers: Software only. Hardware acceleration disabled
Rasterization: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Video Decode: Software only. Hardware acceleration disabled
Video Encode: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
WebGL: Hardware accelerated but at reduced performance
Thanks for every little bit of Help!
Looks like some acceleration is disabled.
Perhaps the current Chromium 61 codebase (used by Vivaldi) disabled your GPU.
Which graphics hardware you you have on you PC?
Restart VivaldiReply Quote 0 1 Reply Last reply
thanks for the fast response <3
im using a 8GB KFA2 GeForce GTX 1080 EX OC
but sadly vivaldi://flags/#ignore-gpu-blacklist didnt work but it changed something because i actually found some clips that work now (didnt happen once before) and some clips seem to play a few seconds longer.
so its more like 1 out of 10 clips play fully now and the time it takes to freeze on other clips changed from like 1-10 seconds to 1-20 seconds. Its really weird.. Sorry :(
i just tried like ~30 clips.
Do you have Hardware acceleration active?
Perhaps you browse profile is broken.
Try: backup browser profile data, read(!) and reset the browser profile and copy back important files.Reply Quote 0C1 Reply Last reply
chrome://settings/system?search=hardware shows that
Hardware acceleration is deactivated.
and resetting my profile doesnt work either tried it with and without hardware acceleration and about 10 clips each. Didnt notice any difference :(
I remembered that Vivaldi Snapshot 1.13 had some fixes for Win7 + video.
Perhaps you can try. Install it for a test only as Standalone with Advanced option in installer.Reply Quote 0 1 Reply Last reply
well after checking for 1.13 i noticed i didnt even update to 1.12. And it looks like everything is working perfectly fine now :D (i was still using 1.10)
im sorry for wasting your time but so far no update of vivaldi ever fixed this problem so i stopped paying attention to the latest versions.
Thanks you so much :) <3

No need to excuse, do not blame yourself. No problem for me. The forum is for help.
Have much fun with newer Vivaldi now. :fireworks: :shamrock:Reply Quote 0 1 Reply Last reply
