Memory leak

  • Hello,
Since a few weeks I have memory leak with vivaldi browser 1.12.955.38 (Stable channel) (64 bits) on Linux Mint 17.1.
Vivaldi's memory use all my memory and then all swap partition, it never ends. I need to kill Vivaldi.
Does someone has the same problem ?
    What can I do ?
Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Best regards

  • Can be caused by:

    • Used extensions
    • Flash
    • videos

If you can precicely explain under which circumstances that happoens you may report a bug.

If you found a bug, please report the issue to the developers to fix it.

How to do a bugreport for Vivaldi
Report each bug seperately at https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/
Describe the issue as precise as you can.
Add some information about extensions you use.
Add information about the operating system and version you use.
If you have problems with video or audio give us information about your installed codecs and graphics card/GPU.
Add a exact link to the page where the issue comes up and can be tested.
After reporting the issue, you will receive a confirmation mail from the bugtracker.
In a reply to this mail you can add more information and files (like screenshots or testcases) as attachments and it will be added automatically to bug report.
If you have questions about the bug please ask in forum first and do not forget to post the VB-XXXXX bug number (you can find it in confirmation mail).

Thanks in advance for helping us to make Vivaldi better!

  • For me, the close symptom like op does caused by one of my extension. Happen in any Chromium based I test, only in Vivaldi it felt more noticeable maybe due its own UI. Note, Opera New suffer same thing like Vivaldi vs my extensions choice.

Not a cure but work around/tips. I use another extension (yes, irony) that can turn off/on extension as group to calm down memory/resources use.

Still, agree with the suggestion. Keep kicking that bug report for better build.

Thanks for your answer. I think it was a bug but I can't report it !
I've deleted all files in /tmp and /var/log ==> there is no more problem. Vivaldi works again.
