[Resolvec] Search doesn't open in new window - Is this a bug?
-
I'd like to see the setting of Tab Options to include a check box for "Reuse current tab" AND "Open new tab next to active"
i`d like to see that function also very much, although this is an old thread.
Links and bookmarks are opening now in new tabs if one want it, just the searchbox still lacks that feature.Just for information that there is at least one user missing that feature
alt+enter
-
Alt+Enter does nothing special here, still opens the search in the same tab
-
in 1.2 stable at least, alt+enter is broken in the search bar, but works as expected in the addressbar.
-
But when i type a term in the addressbar and prees alt+enter it tries to open an url in the first place before use the term as a search term.
These workarounds are maybe well-meant but not the real deal here.

Try changing default search engine in settings and then change it back.

I would really love to see the Option to choose in Prefenences if the search-field (and the adress-field) opens a search in a new tab or not.
At least it shold work like in Firefox: with alt (or was it shift) the search opens a new window. -
Alt+Enter now works for both AddressBar and SearchBar
-
Ah, that's good news!!
-
Alt-Enter still doesn`t work in the seachbox (Ver. 1.5.658.44)
Please give us an option to to choose a new tab nor not

Shift+Enter works

Yes, Shift+Enter works, thank you.
But still, this is not a big thing to implement isn`t it?
Just a checkbox if search should open in a new tab... -
Made the update to 1.6 final today and were surprised by a checkbox under settings -> search: open new tab
