open unclickable links in new tab
-
is there a way to open links in new tabs without autofocusing on them and stay focused on actual page?
-
It's called Open link in new background tab. Can be done via right click context menu, middle click, ctrl-leftclick
-
@ian-coog Or with a mouse gesture = Open Link in Background Tab (Over a link)
-
no i mean the links that are not clickable. when selecting with highlight and you have to click 'go to the page "link"'
-
@urfausto I see no way to do that. Just click on the newly opened tab to minimise it and return to the previously active tab. Settings, Tabs, Tab Features, Minimize Active Tab.
-
Try holding Ctrl while selecting the menu item.

@sgunhouse looooooooooooooooooooool that works like a charm. WHY SO MANY TRICKS HIDDEN IN THIS BROWSER XD XD
a manual has to be made!!!!

I'm just surprised no one beat me to it. It's a universal modifier, if Ctrl is held while doing an action that opens a URL, it is opened in a new background tab. Applies to links, menus, or gestures.
-
Apparently is one of the untold secrets, I'd like to hear how many did know about it and if it's even documented somewhere. Nice to know in any case

I already tried it, but it did not work. A new active tab was opened.

works perfectly for me, try some links on text files at pastebin for example, after selecting the text of the url (which is not clickable per se) select go to url and keep ctrl pressed, background tab is opened.

the link in it redirects to a non existant page, don't worry -
@ian-coog I got it now. It works for go to, not for search.
