strange rendering behaviour with vivaldi-stable 1.12.955.36
-
While working with a website (xhtml) I changed the id of an element which caused vivaldi to completly mess up the formatting of the site. I first fumbled around for on hour because I thoughed I made a mistake. Then I tried other browsers (chromium, old Opera classic, seamokey and vivaldy snapshot v1.13.966.3 ). All four displayed the the website correctly!
I don't know whether or not this report is of interest for you as obviously the problem is gone with newest vivaldi snapshot. On the other hand I wonder how changeing the id of an html element can cause such behaviour (I refreshed vivaldi many times and I closed vivaldi several times with no avail). And as vivaldi stable is my default browser, I'd really liked it to not haveing rendering issues as the one described while I edit a website.
All I did was changeing id="graphiken" to id="koop" in the html file and adapting the respective section in the *.css file. As all other browsers then showed the expected result I think this proves I did right all the changes. Is there any wired cache behaviour implemented in vivaldi?

While working with a website (xhtml) I changed
(…)Depends all on your valid CSS and XHTML what the browsers displays. And do not forget CSS precedence (Specificity, Inheritance, Cascade).
+All other browsers including vivaldi-snapshot+ showed the correct result!!
All I did was changeing (…)
And where did you change it? Developer Tools? Local file? Server hosted file?
local file served by local apache2 . So all browser get it the same way.

We are always interested.

No. Vivialdi uses the Chromium caching system.
I hope you cleared the cache before you tested locally.
Where???? I was searching for it as there allways was a inconvenient need to search for it with each browser I ever used. This is one of the most (censored) decissions to +hide+ the empty cache button somewhere +deep+ inside the settings.
So the answer is, no, I did not. But yes, please tell my where the vivaldi developpers hid it. I could not find it.
And, please, put the "empty cache" button into the Edit/Bearbeiten menue or somwhere in the context menue. If you need it, you need it in a handy manner.

I didn't know that (german) "'Cache leeren" could be found under "Browserdaten löschen", now I know. And the rendering issue is gone after emptying the cache .
Strange though that closeing vivaldi and/or repeatedly refreshing the site didn't force vivaldi to reload and rerender the content.
Thanks.
