Problems with HTML5 player on twitch.tv
-
I'm currently having trouble watching streams on twitch as the video playback is stuttering heavily.
There seems to be some problem with decoding the video stream as the Buffer Size/Latency To Caster/ Latency to Encoder all 3 seem to grow steadily.
Tried it with the 32bit and 64bit version, same behaviour: 1.12.955.36 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
Chrome and Firefox are both working fine on my system with twitch streams.
System:
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 15063)
Nvidia GTX 960, Driver: 385.41

Try
• Get current video driver from NVidia website
then try
• Disable Use Animation vivaldi → settings → appearance
then try
• Disable GPU blacklist vivaldi://flags/#ignore-gpu-blacklist

Disabling the Animation settings did help. Seems to work now without stuttering.
What exactly is this option doing? And why is it on by default?

It animates actions of Vivaldi user interface f.ex. if moving Speed Dial entry or opening panel or opening etc.
Is active by default to give us a better user experience.
Unfortunately there is a bug with animations interfering video display under some circumstances. But work is in progress.

I guess it is not a desired behavior that it interacts with video playback right?

Not desired, a bug.

I recognized on Twitch (and Youtube) that it interacts more in theater mode display than in fullscreen videos.
