Home on keyboard does not work
On 1.12 "Home" key on keyboard does not scroll page to the top. "End" key work fine, it scrolls page to the bottom. I have the same problem with "Home" key at home and at my work.
Does anyone have this problem on 1.12?
Works for me on Windows 10x64.
Did you try to reset Vivaldi's Settings → Keyboard to Default?
Do you use extensions?
@abiel No. Do you use any extensions?
@abiel I never noticed the problem on 1.12; now using 1.13 Snapshots. I did report a bug with GestureDown not working on the new YouTube layout, which automatically loads more comments or more videos as you scroll down.
Try assigning mouse gestures to these useful commands, such as GestureUp and GestureDown.
Of course if focus is in a text field, Home goes to the start of the line and Ctrl-Home to the top of the field (while End goes to the end of the line and Ctrl-End to the bottom of the field). Just saying, Home may have different effects in different contexts.
@abiel Please explain under which circumstances this happens?
Thany you guys, if it works for you than it must be something on my side. And it is one of the extensions. First I noticed that "home" key works fine on extension page vivaldi://extensions/, but not on any web page. Then I disabled one by one extension and restarted Vivaldi every time, and extension that causes problem is SmoothScroll 1.6.1.
I did not have this problem with this extension on Vivaldi 1.12, but now it's fine after I disabled it on 1.13.
Confirmed the misbehaviour on SmoothScroll 1.6.1.
I tried now this other extension
and seems to work
On the other hand, I found that the Vivaldi setting/webpages Smooth Scrolling doesn't do anything if checked or not, while the one in vivaldi://flags/#smooth-scrolling actually enables smooth scrolling (or at least it's not just coarse scrolling)
Reported as VB-33274, in the meantime the flags settings is enough to let me uninstall the smooth scrolling extension.
