The work for 1.13 starts now – Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1.13.966.3

@aronand said in The work for 1.13 starts now – Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1.13.966.3:
Pinned tabs shouldn't be stackable, the fact that they can be stacked is a bug.
That Vivaldi continue with this bug then. lol
I even left a request, I think it's great to have this function! Comment
If this is the bug. -
@aronand Very sad face...
Actually, to be pedantic, the way we've been sneakily doing this "recently" is more like stacks that are pinned, not pinned tabs that are then stacked. Ie, we first have to make the [unpinned] stack(s), then sequentially pin each tab within each target stack, until eventually the "stack is pinned". This is done by keyboard shortcut.
Up until 1.0.233.3 we could achieve this objective entirely with mouse, but ironically it was opposite to how we nowadays do it. Back then, we would pin the relevant individual tabs, then create stack(s) by dragging with mouse. Same result by the end, as now, but achieved in the opposite way.
Ie, back then though we could stack pins, we could not also pin stacks, whereas these days we can only pin stacks [but clumsily, as explained, tab by tab].
I've been hoping ever since the version after 1.0.233.3 that V would give us back this functionality [with improvements], so now reading you describe this as a "bug" saddens me; the implication being that sooner or later you'll "fix" this bug & hence cause us [again] to lose this terribly handy capability.
Bwahhh, i don't want to lose this capability:
bwah, bwah...

I didn't got this update news via rss, is everything ok?
btw thanks for fixing VB-32850
-
@burbuja I use a USB copy every day. It's not so easy... I have custom batch files to copy the user data to hard disk and back afterwards.
Vivaldi is horrible to run directly from USB...
-
@gwen-dragon:
nope, this one:
https://vivaldi.net/blogs/teamblog?format=feed&type=rss
is the url out of date? -
Were we supposed to lose the image properties context menu?
-
@derday I get Invalid page there. Use the one @Gwen-Dragon gave you.
-
@mossman okay that's weird... I tried two pages (BBC news and a company intranet page) and on both of those it just gave a short menu... I went to the Vivaldi 1.12 page and I got the full menu.
Now on BBC it randomly gives me a short context menu or a longer one. In fact the number of options keeps varying
-
@ian-coog @Gwen-Dragon
ok, thx -
@ayespy Thanks a lot for doing that. Sorry I couldn't do it earlier.

@quhno: That Ctrl + F11 trick is cool, but not exactly what I wanted.
I want to keep the entire UI when in full screen mode. Think of it as if you had the task bar set to hide and maximized the window. I want the browser to be able to stay like that without having to hide the taskbar, because I can easily switch from fullscreen mode to windowed mode Vivaldi with a single shortcut, whereas hiding the taskbar whenever I need it takes more time clicking around.Also, I never said I thought the work would stop. I said I didn't expect a new release so soon, as in I didn't think they would finish what they were working for the next build so quickly after having just released a stable version candidate (which then became the stable version in no time).
-
@aronand Don't say that. They should ABSOLUTELY be stackable. There is no logical reason why stacked pins/pinned stacks would be a bad thing. It would be an unqualfied good. The fact that I have a stack of GMail accounts that I can pin, and a stack of Vivaldi pages that I can keep pinned is to be desired, not shunned. It can be labor-intensive to build these stacks, and the fact I can be assured of not losing them is a tangible value.
I challenge you to explain to me why it's a bad thing.
-
@steffie I hope it can be fixed soon for you.
-
@juniorsilva30 The bug that might have a reason not to be exterminated.
-
@driverop:
Because I already have quite a number of windows open and one more in the mix wouldn't help matters. Besides, if Vivaldi had a second row of tabs, there would be no need for doing that. -
Can you implement video pop out feature?
Thanks! -
@steffie: Wow, yes!
Once the folder entries themselves can be hidden (even the root one for the window could be if there's only one) this is more or less a re-creation of my "beloved" Tree Style Tabs Firefox extension.
But already know it's very helpflul for resorting tabs within stacks.someone

Huu, this was poated as a reply to one of Steffie's Windows Panel posts. A bug of the forum software?

@cooldudezach: Better now than never

I'm trying to use this browser, but it same thing all over it. If i import bookmarks then i need to go in reverse way and drop them one by one to speed dial, can't select them all at once. Loading titles for speed dial automatically that would be great, i don't use any names for that. Nobody use separate search box this days, i need disable that. Get a grip Vivaldi, users have a lot of bookmarks, nobody will going to switch to you, if you're a mess.
