How to prevent Vivaldi saving infinite copies of same image
I find it highly annoying and really puzzling why Vivaldi does allow to save endless copies of same image (by mistake).
Note img_7860.jpg in this example is already saved
and then copy of copy
and another copy of a copy of a copy.
Is there a way to fix that?
It drives me nuts especially when using DeviantArt. Opera 12 or IE works properly, just Vivaldi persist with this nonsense. I haven't got a clue why. Problem amplifies itself when daily backup sync begins and then it writes copies of copies.
Upgraded to latest version but its still there. Nothing changed in ages.
@Lurker Are you downloading these images? As far as I know no chromium browsers will stop a download from happening, if a file with the name already exists in the destination folder.
Well images always appear in the Downloads panel, but its not like it has to download anything.
In example above picture was so tiny that it barely had any noticeable size.
So its back to O12 or IE. Googlium is so advanced ... its behind seriously old competition.

Vivaldi doesn't download anything if you don't actively make it download something. I understand you are annoyed, but I still can't grasp the underlying issue. But yeah, if you think IE suits your needs better, go for it.
How exactly are you downloading these images? Are you manually saving them , or is it an automatic download? I'm having trouble understanding what the problem is here (apologies if i'm misunderstanding somewhere).
From what I can see, if an image is already saved then it makes sense to allow you to re-download it but append a (1) to the name.
the browser should call the download api using one of the 3 possible parameters, but seems like the default is uniquify by adding (1)...
there are extensions to force the wanted behaviour
