[solved]black screen on embedded youtube videos
I'm using vivaldi the last months in an arch linux system, and videos which are embedded in forums don't load and I get only a black screen instead. I have no problems with youtube videos played directly from youtube site. For example this video here:
display only a black screen.
These videos work fine when I visit them from google chrome. I just found that if I right click on video frame and choose "reload frame" option, then it works as expected. Is there a way to fix this?
I can not get such black screen on linxuquestions, plays fine in the iframe.
Tested with 1.10.867.48 Stable and 1.11.917.22 Snapshot x64
Debian 8.9 x64 KDE 4.14
May be you use extensions which block something.
From the first link I cannot play the first video(H.264/MP4) and from the second none of them.
I also tried them with google chrome and there only the 3rd video(MPEG-DASH, VOD, DRM, H.264) doesn't play.
I'm using the same extensions in chrome, so I don't think that this is the problem.
Chrome brings it own implemented codecs.
Vivaldi cant, because of license problems.
You need some extra codecs:
Thanks, I installed libffmpeg-vivaldi and now all testing videos load and play and also I don't need to refresh frame to load the embedded videos on forums etc.
I tried to download this package before from aur but was failed to build. I just found an alternative repository and I download and install it from there.
