Still no video on certain sites

nos.nl/ after months not showing the videos in Vivaldi. In spite of a lot of updates over time.
Firefox and Chromium do.
Vivaldi was a great browser, I did a lot with it until 1.5, but this is serious in my opinion. I don't get it.
Is there a simple solution? -

Any idea?It sounds your distro is missing some codecs. Please, have a look at here

I see in terminal:

Package adobe-flashplugin is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another sourceE: Package 'adobe-flashplugin' has no installation candidate

Can you reproduce all of those videos here? Mainly the first one.
-
No. The first one does not play.

It makes sense. That link will fix the issue. BTW, what is your distro?
-
Which link will fix it, Lamarca?
It gives problems on SolydX, Linux Lite and PCLinuxOS.
By the way, thanks for your patience. -

I still (after some months) don't know where to look. So it is a little frustrating. Something like Silver(Moon)light in the past, also a drag.
I only can see Firefox and Chromium doing fine on a thing like nos.nl
Vivaldi did everything fine until version 1.5. -
@rijnsma I understand your frustrating:(
Did you tried @ruario script?
We have a long thread about Video problem:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/12973/video-playback-problems-troubleshooting-and-solutions-on-linux -
@lamarca Yikes! Just loading https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html will trigger a crash on Mac's with a blacklisted GPU! (Apparently a fix for this is in the works...)
-
@xyzzy It sounds good:)

Hey guys, I try that link to test video and the first one doesn't work for me, but... if i click over the video and i open video in a new tab it works. Last Vivaldi and tested on Windows 7 (I know this thread is for Linux and I will update this post soon. Just give me time to switch and test the same thing it on Linux Mint 18.1...).
Hope can help
Edit:
Test right now with Mint 18.1 and the first video works fine (no need to open in a new tab) -

Package oxideqt-codecs-extra is not available .....Your distro does not provide that package (it's ubuntu thing). I use the archlinux herecura repo:
If you are using x86_64, download the package below:https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs-59.0.3071.104-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
- extract the package
- install the libffmpeg.so issuing the following command:
sudo install libffmpeg.so /opt/vivaldi
or /opt/vivaldi-snapshot

Where do I put 'opt' ? I now have it in Downloads.I wrote the command syntax above. Here we go again
open the terminal and issue the following command:sudo install libffmpeg.so /opt/vivaldi
in case you are running vivaldi-snapshot:
sudo install libffmpeg.so /opt/vivaldi-snapshot
-
Result: install: cannot stat ‘libffmpeg.so’: No such file or directory
I can't make anyting else of it. Sorry.
