HTML5 video won't work / known problems with older GPUs?

As a companion reference to my original thread, this issue seems to have expanded into something different.
User @xyzzy was kind enough to assist me through this troubleshooting and were able to fix this problem on a Feb 2011 MBP by disabling the Override software rendering list flag, but not on my mid-2010 iMac 27'' with an ATI Radeon HD 5780. I stumbled upon another recent thread experiencing a similar problem.
Since blank / unresponsive videos don't report anything, let alone, crash my browser, is there anything us users can do to report these problems to Vivaldi's team? I wonder if vivaldi://gpu could be of any use. And of course, if anyone has figured out a workaround, please let me know. Thank you!

I have a mid-2010 iMac 21.5-inch with an ATI Radeon HD 4670. I don't have problems with video using Chrome, but I do with Vivaldi.
Comparing vivaldi://gpu with the GPU info for Google Chrome (chrome://gpu), one interesting difference is Version Information > ANGLE commit id: a9042d3c1952 for Chrome, but unknown hash for Vivaldi.
ANGLE is a graphics engine abstraction layer.
Looks like Chrome and Vivaldi are using different versions of ANGLE.
I also spotted an old Chromium bug report about updating ANGLE that affects the commit id.
