Old Import - Export Passwords feature not found anymore
-
Since the introduction of the new Chromium settings UI , I can't find any more the Import-Export choice in password manager, although in "Chrome://Flags" remained "enabled".
Am I missing something? -
Hi, did you use Chrome password setup?
vivaldi://chrome/settings/search#pass
Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin I used an old bookmark Vivaldi://settings which opens the new interface, but with the link you posted , old interface is back! Thank you very much!
-
@mib2berlin Thanks. I was getting a Google Chrome looking interface and it didn't have the password management options.
-
I think ,the best solution is to use a password manager or copy - paste "Login Data" file from an older Profile folder , if there is one, to the new Profile folder and replace the new "Login Data" file.
-
@dleon Right, you can't copy paste "Login Data" in another computer. Generally speaking, importing passwords in any browser from another is a bit of copious mess anyway.
-
Another backup option is the Nir software: Web Browser Pass View
It will backup ALL of your passwords from all of your browsers to several file formats. I use a local bookmark to my backed up file under my Vivaldi folder (on the Bkmk bar) for quick ref in case the latest V update develops bookmark amnesia.
Since the only likely future development is that the Chromies will continue to get more evil it pays to plan ahead.

@dleon said in Old Import - Export Passwords feature not found anymore:
I read (maybe from around here) the export/import buttons will back to new design, Chromium upstream courtesy. Wait if that's true.
Yup, chromium63 has export (again) in MD settings. It's not in the MD interface on chromium59~62
Workaround from Gwen, using standalone vivaldi 1.11 for import/export is still valid.
