I made a huge thumbnail pack ...
-
@jrasmussen I thought that was posted here, but apparently not!
The default thumbnails are stored in your Vivaldi(version) folder e.g. \Vivaldi\Application\1.10.867.42\resources\vivaldi\resources
Or
(for linux stable) /opt/vivaldi/resources/vivaldi/resources -
@jrasmussen You're welcome! I'm glad you like them, and yeah, I saw your post and had the time to do it right there, so I did it!
As @TbGbe mentioned, and if you can't find it there, I also posted them in a separate folder to make it easy to find V's stock thumbs just in case: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51ZVNOX0U0SFhjbzA?usp=sharing
-
@jrasmussen Done! Look for the following:
sd_manjaro
sd_pandora
sd_earbits
sd_tunein
sd_workflowy
sd_openstreetmaps
sd_heremaps
sd_openweathermapsI hope they look okay! Let me know what you think.

If you want, you can show off pictures of your Speed Dial that is now taking shape!
-
That looks nice! You're using so many of them, I even made a lot of those without requests and didn't know if anyone would use them.
If you hadn't checked it out already, I made some more versions of the Pocket thumbnail you have. I made one with the text and small bars of color at the bottom, and it just became one of my favorites.
-
@jrasmussen My favorite is version 4 of Pocket, it's really amazing.
Those 2 sites are done. Look for the following:
sd_overdrive
sd_kobohttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51T0psOHJXb0M4VmM?usp=sharing
-
@jrasmussen No problem! I don't mind the requests at all, as I have some free time and kind of enjoy doing SD thumbnails anyway. So ask away.
I made 2 thumbs to see which one you'd like better. They are:
sd_googlechromewebstore
sd_googlechromewebstore2https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51T0psOHJXb0M4VmM?usp=sharing
Let me know if you have any other requests
-
@jrasmussen Nice! Now it's REALLY taking shape!
-
@jrasmussen Done! Look for the following:
sd_dribbble
sd_longreads
sd_edgewoodcollege
sd_jamesmadisonmemorialhighschool
sd_mlb
sd_nba
sd_ncaa
sd_nokiahealth
sd_indoboard
sd_oyofitness
sd_focalupright
sd_lakeviewvetclinic
sd_isolved
sd_whentowork
sd_wvpma
sd_zipwhipThere are some, like the vet clinic where I wasn't sure I did a perfect job, as the letters naturally cut off at the bottom in the actual picture. Otherwise, I hope they look alright
-
Hi, had some time to try the lakeviewvet clinic.
Was only some magic wand work and it is only 221x171.Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin The image I got has "clinic" cut off, I thought that's how the image actually looked like. I'll try finding a bigger one with the whole thing.
-
There we go! Replaced it with a 440 x 360-sized image that will display all the text:
-
@jrasmussen Thank you so much, jrasmussen! And I'm glad your happy with your vet logo the logo for your schools. And thank you for the upvotes too!
I hope they're as professional as can be!
-
@ncristian Thank you for these! These look great, and I'm going to keep some of them like Anandtech, and Andrea Galeazzi. For some others like 4chan, diretta.it, Gentoo, La Repubblica, and UserBenchmark, I made some for as well, for some changing small things like the scaling, and for others like diretta.it, having a new icon for the thumbnail. So look for:
sd_4chan2
sd_gentoo
sd_userbenchmark
sd_diretta_it
sd_larepubblicahttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51T0psOHJXb0M4VmM?usp=sharing
For the VNDB, I wasn't sure if you were basing the thumbnail off of vndb.com, or vndb.org. Are they the same website? If it's .com, I can probably make a good one off of that, as they have a good logo already.
-
@jrasmussen Done! Look for: sd_wplc
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51T0psOHJXb0M4VmM?usp=sharing
Any other sites?
-
@jrasmussen I remember many versions ago(not sure when) they first got the Gif for the Vivaldi Community site, but for the first year or so of Vivaldi's existence, they changed it to a GIF. I could see if I can find that old thumbnail they used to have for it.
-
@jrasmussen Alright, so I went and downloaded Vivaldi 1.0, the first version, on a live Linux boot on USB so I didn't mess up my current install. Then dug up the original static thumbnail they had before they changed it to the GIF and then uploaded it onto my folder for V's stock thumbs. So look for: sd_vivaldi_community.png
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51ZVNOX0U0SFhjbzA?usp=sharing
-
@ncristian Ah okay. Well, I looked for the logo, and I wasn't able to find a good one, so I took a snapshot of a picture of it, and I made one of that. Let me know if it's good enough. Look for: sd_vndb
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51T0psOHJXb0M4VmM?usp=sharing
-
@jrasmussen Done! I don't think there was an exact logo for KDE Store, so I used a modified one of the KDE logo. I think the KDE logo itself I made is very good. Maybe some KDE users like @Gwen-Dragon and @Steffie might like it as well.
Look for the following:sd_privateinternetaccess
sd_kde
sd_kdestore
sd_thewirecutter
sd_thesweethomehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51T0psOHJXb0M4VmM?usp=sharing
Enjoy!

@D0J0P Thanks, but yeah - nah. You might recall my initial disinterest in custom thumbnails, which was briefly replaced by tepid agreement that they might be useful? Well since then the disinterest returned, so i've not lifted a finger to pursue this [& am not actually bothering to read any of the associated threads; only got to this one now coz of your mention].
In fairness though, a lot* of my disinterest is unrelated to the actual genuine utility of this feature [or not]. It's rather more a side-effect of my current geek-focus being less on V itself but more on researching & testing a [now serious] possibility of migrating my OS from Maui to openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE. In this project Vivaldi has continued to be simply magnificent; its tab-stacking, pane-tiling, bookmark management & Panel Notes have truly assisted my research process -- Vivaldi is just so damn good.
*A lot, but not all. I did indeed briefly experiment, but the moment i found that the onus was on me not Vivaldi to suitably size any putative custom thumbnail, was the exact moment i utterly lost interest. When in future V automates this basic function, my interest might pick up again.
Anyway, it seems that you are putting in a huge effort that many of our community are really appreciating, so i heartily congratulate you for that generosity. Onya!!
