Don't close the settings window last!

  • Annoyingly, when closing the settings window last, every time you re-open vivaldi, you're greeted by the same window, and I'm yet to find a way to get the browser back without force removing everything and reinstalling it.

  • What version of Vivaldi are you using? (Menu > Help > About: check the top line)

I had your problem in the original Vivaldi Tech Preview version, but it was fixed in the next update a week later. That update, in turn, had its own problem where, after opening the settings panel, the upper-right "x" button wouldn't close the browser. But with the second Vivaldi update (to 1.0.105.7), all of the settings-panel-caused exit/restart problems have been cleared up on my system.

Press Ctrl+N to open a new window.

EDIT: Also, get the latest build. I just checked that and Vivaldi now auto-closes the Settings window if you close the main browser window fist. No issues when restarting the Vivaldi.

  • New window done the trick~

    As for updates:
    1. Where are they announced? (was still using 1.0.83.38 D: )
    2. The latest one I just got off the website is v.1.0.94.2

    ~Thanks.

  • Well, you might want to start paying attention to what's pinned on the forum. :)

Here's the link to the latest snapshot.

    Cheers.

    2. The version on vivaldi.com is the latest Technical Preview (or beta, or final in the future).

    Ah, thank ye~
I stopped being a forum hound years ago (more or less.. live under a rock :3), and pretty much expected Vivaldi to notify me of updates.
