Better page loading behaviour
-
Hey, I'm not sure what Vivaldi loads first and what last. But when a half page is loaded (according to progress bar) and I CAN'T SEE ANY ELEMENT on the page but only a blank page, it's bad. I would like to see every loaded element immediately rendered to can read first lines or whatever while a page is loading more and more content (not just "booom" it's all loaded/rendered, see" after a few seconds of waiting). Maybe I'm asking for a new settings or just for an adjustment in loading

I support your idea, but it's a Chromium problem.
I have asked Opera team to fix, at least, the image loading behaviour, which is binary. It's either loaded or not. There's no middle point. Sometimes the image has loaded almost fully just the last 2px not, but it doesn't show up.

Sure, it depends… Maybe chromium is limiting (maybe not that much - I'm not a programmer). But chromium is open-sourced but sure, maybe it would not pay back to contribute since Vivaldi is a small group.
But compared to Opera/Chrome (both Chromium based) it's markable when loading (for example) facebook (even with spdy flag enabled).

I don't like this behavior either, i am kinda used to o12 , loads page in segments, at least something is happening, in vivaldi, as you said, its just nothing, nothing, nothing, and then whole page loads.

BINGO! EXACTLY! I despise this behavior. This behavior needs to be taken out to the woodshed and given an attitude adjustment. If it IS like An_dz says and it's a Chromium problem … well, I sure hope that somehow the Vivaldi Devs can find a way around it and achieve a loading behavior more like original Opera.

Chromium is open source, but "fixing" it wold be
A) a big work
B1) Convince the other developers that the Opera/Vivaldi way is better, and this is unlikely
B2) Fork the project, ending with an huge to improve some parts and also an huge work to keep the rest on par with the evolving Chromium and Blink and, last but not least with a lot of compatibility troubles in the future. So a "no go " options too.
To summarize, sometimes is better to face a gray present than a black future…
