Great news - congrats on the new release.
Just bought a bottle of wine named Vialdi (!) today that I would have loved to share that one with you (available in Scandinavia at least): https://www.systembolaget.se/dryck/roda-viner/valpolicella-ripasso-7180501

@Cqoicebordel said in Vivaldi powers up the Start Page and adds docked Dev Tools:

Beyond that, 64b means it's a bit faster, but use a bit more memory. The differences might not be visible.

No idea if it's faster, but I do have a pretty good idea that it doesn't use a bit more memory. It uses a lot more memory. (Disclaimer: I haven't used this build yet, but I haven't read of a quantum leap backwards in 64-bit memory use.)

Emh, where is option to dock dev tools? I don't see it 🙂
The dock was triggered. At first it was opened in new window - then, after opening the vivaldi settings (alt+P), the dock was shown with inspect button. Ok, probably it was my faulty fault :3

@dLeon I saw... probably I triggered the vivaldi UI dev inspector... that obviously uses the new-window dev tools.
"Normal" dev tool work perfectly 🙂

If anybody would like, I created many Speed Dial thumbnails that go really well with Vivaldi's stock SD thumbnails. So for the sites people need that Vivaldi didn't make SD thumbnails for, these would go great with them. Check them out here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51T0psOHJXb0M4VmM?usp=sharing

I'd also love taking requests for thumbs for any site you want as well 🙂

                          I made a huge thumbnail pack: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BwcOkwtCjr51T0psOHJXb0M4VmM?resourcekey=0-PX-P0JJhsL7aSv2D3EQGHA&usp=sharing

@rseiler: It depends on your OS, your tabs, your hardware etc.
But all in all, it's always a compromise of RAM usage vs Speed. More and more, softwares chooses to use more RAM to gain speed. And given the current cost of RAM, it's a faire choice. The equation as evolved from the choices made 20 years ago. RAM usage is less important nowadays, but speed still is.

Great Start Page customization! I still can't remove that annoying white top bar.

                              11/10 would use CSS again

@eronix said in Vivaldi powers up the Start Page and adds docked Dev Tools:

Good work, as always. Now, it would be great if you could add a first version of the email client in one of the next Vivaldi releases.

I think this would not be good! It would only disrupt the team because the users would be commenting on bugs etc. Even knowing that the email client is not ready.
For me, it's better to let the team work and when it's almost ready to release, releasing now would be a mistake (for me). Many users would not understand that the email client is in the test phase and would ask for resources, talk about bugs, etc. That would not help ...

@JuniorSilva30 Uhm, this is exactly what Snapshots are for. 🙃 To talk about bugs and fix them before the next Stable release. The more people join in the better, who will of course know they are using a Snapshot that is not yet final. Which-ever version @eronix was talking about, the next final version will be stable.

@JuniorSilva30 Hi, I think different about release email client "WIR".
Software is never ready and you need many user for testing, bug reporting and so forth. Internal testing is and was never work for software.
Microsoft gave Windows 10 for testing one year before release date and it was full of Bugs and security issues.
May Vivaldi should name browser BETA or ALPHA and not Snapshot. 🙂

                                          Cheers, mib

@mdnjou I just think it's not the time yet, I think it would mess up, and I believe that internal testers do a lot of work to help improve the email client, many users reporting bugs, asking for recourses would not help (I think) , Because the internal testers do this and obviously know it's a long work, so it's one step at a time, releasing everyone in some snapshot at the moment, would have users complaining, complaining ... So I guess when I'm almost done , there will be released in some snapshot and fix the errors before reaching the final version. ☺

Note: I do not know how the e-mail client walks, so it's just a comment based on some comments from internal testers. Maybe it's point to be released in the next snapshots or maybe not, we do not know ... But from what I realize, it is not yet ready to be released to the public ...
