Custom Speed Dial thumbnails – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.10.862.6
It's not a big problem. I am happily using the 64-bit version without any major issues. It is maybe a good idea to do some testing in the 64-bit version to uncover some bugs that might otherwise get missed.
I am working on Windows with the x64 since 2–3 months, they are as stable as the x86 versions.

I had also experienced a strange behaviour after trying popups in windows instead of tabs. Closed Vivaldi, it didn't restart normally, but a white window.
Ctrl-N to show a new window worked, closed the white window (alt-f4), closed the normal Vivaldi window and restarted. NOW the popup window appear. I've tried some examples found at http://rip747.github.io/popupwindow/
EDIT: It happened again, after trying this extension
All I get is a white window, and after that all popup windows appear just as white window with nothing in them (and cpu fan also spins like hell)
I have to stay with popups on tabs, not a biggie as I just wanted to try the new popup windows, but they're even more buggy than before, for me.
I found the problem, took me a while to try out all possibilities but I now can reproduce it: it's due to one particular mod in VivaldiHooks: go-button.js
As soon as it's activated, pop up windows gets blank. Deactivating it, pop up windows work. Not a Vivaldi problem, at least.

Ho, so that's the reason.
I don't link VivaldiHook yet as still testing with my usual extensions stability.
Thanks for another update and new features!

@iAN-CooG Apologies, but this one is not even loading like it should do, 64 bit is fine, but a definite problem with the 32bit reccomended version & the auto updater
I am unable to automatically update as the installer fails to launch after receiving a security dialog under Windows 10 (publisher could not be verified). Manually installing, SmartScreen doesn't allow it.
I have this problem here!
!!! For all with download problems of installer on Windows: !!!
- Fetch wget.exe 1.19.1 from https://eternallybored.org/misc/wget/ as a zip
- Extract all files in a temporary program folder f.ex. T:\wget\
- Open cmd.exe (DOS shell)
- go to drive T:\ with
cd /D T:\
- Download Vivaldi files with
T:\wget\wget -c https://downloads.vivaldi.com/snapshot/Vivaldi.1.10.862.6.exe
T:\wget\wget -c https://downloads.vivaldi.com/snapshot/Vivaldi.1.10.862.6.x64.exe
That worked always for me when i had a bad DSL connection.

@duarte.framos SVG format is not so easy to implement because of security reasons.
Again and again somebody is finding a way to inject something inside or exploit other funny vulnerabilities...
Some quote from the web:
"More difficult than one might assume
- No good documentation
- XSS vectors are hard to comprehend
- SVG files should not be perceived as images
- Allowing SVG for upload == allowing HTML for upload
- SVG can embed, link or reference any kind of content
over cross domain borders
- SVG provides new ways of payload obfuscation"

wgetalso download that 6kb of 32bit windows installer.
I also tried with
curl, down them all, uGet.
Is there possibility for CDN Geographical error?
Thinking you actually success downloading from Europe, German(?).
Hmm, Opera VPN was in Europe, Netherland. Fire it up, bam, 41MB 32bit EXE Vivaldi downloaded.
@andyraisbeck: can you please try to do it again now? It should work with no problems.
@Pesala Can you please try to download it again now? It should work.
@mariap No change. It is still only 6.83 Mbytes.

I tried clearing my private data and restarting Vivaldi. Still no change.
I can not update or download the 32-bit version. ( It's only 6.83 Mbytes. Like @Pesala said )
I'll wait a little longer, in case the problem continues, I'll install the 64-bit version.

First of all, I believe it's a step in the right direction but...a little tedious as it's now implemented - I have to store some 200 pictures on my hdd and assign them individually to my speed-dial sites! A good suggestion would be, as others mentioned, a simple text in a frame - another suggestion (my personal preference) would be to ask for a url where a picture could be found (most sites have logos)! Anyway, as I mentioned it's really a great step forward, it just needs a little polish!

Nevermind, I forgot we could assign folder contents as Speed Dial
Here's a fun new bug for macOS users:
- Launch Vivaldi
- Close window with Command-W (Vivaldi running but all Vivaldi windows are closed)
- Open new window with Command-N
-> New window opens with missing browser chrome and no browser controls!
If you resume your Last Session on startup, Vivaldi will also remember the broken state when you restart it.
Replicates with a clean out-of-the-box new install with defaults.

@andrew-nguyen: Me too!
@dLeon I think that's 200 slow dials. I have 16, with room for 4 more at the current size.
