Chrome Security Issue - In Vivaldi Too?
From the article: "Chrome bug that lets sites secretly record you...."
As a user, I guess kind like that.
From that linked post.
The fuss was about/caused by webRTC? Which could be disabled in Vivaldi settings. Or by any other means easily or not easily.
As the post it self mentioned, depend "who you ask". It's a bug or not a bug.
I turn off webRTC; plus noscript from beginning (tailored uMatrix), so it's not a bug for me?
As a side note, it was said that bug happened once you already allowed some site to record your camera or microphone.
So if you want to avoid this bug, either deny such permission, or if you don't want to be bothered, go to chrome://settings/content and always block access to microphone and camera.
For trusted sites that need access to them (though, none comes to mind right now), you will be able to re-enable access in the menu that pops when clicking the badge left of the site URL in the main bar.
Point taken - I edited the header to "Chrome Security Issue" From "Chrome Security Bug".
Still, overall, people should at the least be aware this can happen if you are loose with your permissions.
