• Vivaldi Team

Hi, We just made the latest snapshot available for you to grab :) The changelog and build can be found here. https://vivaldi.net/blogs/teamblog/item/7-new-snapshot-1-0-105-7-now-with-32-bit-linux Enjoy! :cheer:

  • This is just great. Thanks, I like how this is developing so far.

  • Thanks for the new snapshot!

Just some relatively minor quibbling about the bookmark bar: for me, having only the ability to add folders isn't ideal. I like to have every bookmark in a folder, but also to have only 6 or 7 most frequently visited sites, which are scattered amongst different folders, on the bookmark bar. I can't really see a way to do this currently.

Instead, I've created a folder just for bookmarks bar entries, which contains duplicates from other folders. Basically, it's an extra folder to me that wouldn't be necessary if I could add bookmarks bar entries individually.

    Other issues:

    • I'd also like to be able to rearrange entries on the bar, rather than in the folder only.
    • it seems that it's not possible to open a bookmark bar entry in a new tab, or at least not with cmd+click. Speed dial has the same issue.
    • It's hard to see some of my favicons on the bookmark bar against certain background colors. I really like the color changing for the tabs and address bar, but I would consider keeping the bookmark bar a constant color like the side panel.

I realize the bookmarks bar is a work in progress and will improve, but that's my 2 cents.

The next small but important (to me) function I would like to see is a keyboard command to open address bar entries (cmd + enter is most other browsers) in a background tab. If this already exists and I'm missing it, I would appreciate someone letter me know.

    Thanks!

I gotta say, the pace of introduction of new things (bookmarks bar, i386 .deb package, etc) kinda blows away the apparent development pace of other browsers. Could not be more pleased.

Indeed. This is so nice. And Vivaldi has a small team.

Then you have my sincerest wish that you shall receive the functionality you desire. :)

  • Why do you make it so hard to find a download ?
The download link goes to the same webpage.
Having a download source seems necessary for the slightest chance of success.
    I finally found a download at mafiawarez.com !!!!! Incredible.

  • I invite you to try the link, see if you can download anything.
