(solved) Increasing UI fonts without zooming the UI

  • Is there a way to customize the UI fonts without changing the UI's zoom factor? I want bigger and/or bolder fonts in the UI. I don't want to increase the UI, at least not in the same proportion.

  • Yeah, there is a way, but only if you're willing to do a modification to the browser (there is no setting for this).

    How to implement it: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/10549/modding-vivaldi/

    Code:

    #browser, #browser + div, #browser + div + div {
    	font-size: 15px;
    }

    edit: and lol, hello again, I recognize you from earlier, please post such requests in the modifications forum

    This does not work. I created a mein.css (=my.css) and an additional entry in browser.html, but I don't get bigger fonts.

    Ok, will do.

  • I wouldn't have posted it if it didn't work. Try to increase the font size even further to see a difference, or add !important. But this shouldn't be needed really.

    I believe you.

    Even with 80px there was no change. Then when I used "200%" the only font increased was the text within the search bar, the adress-bar and in speed-dial. All other fonts (bookmark bar, tab bar, adress bar) remained as they were before.

    So something does not work as expected, for whatever reason.

    Thanks.

  • Oh yeah, the bars aren't touched by this, it increases font size on speed dial page, history and bookmark page, the address bar, the search bar, and the panels and input fields. For tab bar and bookmark bar you probably need different code. So just tell me where you want the font size increased exactly, and then i can tell you the code for it.

  • I tried to add "font-face bold", too, but this didn't change anything either.

    I assume I want all UI fonts increased by the same percentage without zooming the whole UI. Especially I don't want the bars being larger.

    So the code you posted so far was helpfull, except it was not covering all UI fonts.

  • .bookmark-bar .observer button {
    	font-size: 14px;
    	font-weight: bold;
    }
    .tab-strip .tab-header {
    	font-size: 15px;
    }

    Well, I give you the codes for bookmark bar and tab bar. Play around with font size and weight till you are satisfied.

  • Thanks a lot! Works fine now.
