Change white screen (about:blank)

As a Vivaldi dark theme user, I hate to have my eyes obfuscated by white screens.
Vivaldi has a dark themed Speed Dial, which I like, but everytime I open a new tab, type some address on the address bar and hit Enter, the screen flashes full R255, G255, B255 (white).
I noticed it doesn't happen when I click on a link within a website that is already loaded.
So the culprit of this problem must be the about:blank page.
I wonder if there is an alternative page, say... a black one, that could be used instead.
And no, defining a black webpage as the new tab does not solve the problem.
Oh yes, the white page before content is loaded is ugly and not nice for tired eyes or in the evening or night.

@WilliamTael Currently, there's no workaround for this. I guess it has to be hardcoded. Such feature has been requested already (at least several times) and it will hopefully come at some point.

This is my only complaint in Vivaldi. Everything else about the browser is perfect.

This will be largely fixed when Vivaldi is based on Chromium 69.

Tested on the latest Mac Canary 60.0.3094.0; no more white flashes! Yay!
I hate this white page, too. With a dark theme or in less lightened environments it is a pain for the eyes.
I hope a Snapshot with Chromium 60 will come in 2 weeks.

Same here ! I basically have to close the eyes everytime I load a new page. Blinking more often is pretty good for the eyes though
