Vivaldi crashes with proxy
Vivaldi always crashes when using proxy with authentication and opens a link in a new private window or new window. This feature has been visible 7 months at least.
Perhaps a authentication issue!?
Did you report a bug? If not, please do so.
If you found a bug, please report the issue to the developers to fix it.
How to do a bugreport for Vivaldi
Report every bug seperately at https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/
Describe the issue as precise as you can.
If you use any extensions please give information which ones you use.
If you have a URL or a own testpage which can checked, add it to the bugreport.
If you have own testcase files (HTML, CSS, JS etc.) add them to the confirmation mail you get after report.
If you have a screenrecording video, you can attach it to give the developers a hint how this might happen or look like.
You will get a bug confirmation mail and in a reply to this mail you can add more information and files as attachments for the testers and bug tracking team.
Thanks in advance for helping us to make Vivaldi better!
@Gwen-Dragon I've made a bug report: VB-27951.
Same fault is seen also in here:
Sorry, but the bugreport has is not enough information to test the issue.
Do you have information about:
- proxy server software
- used authentication method
I don't know the proxy server software (or why it matters). It is hosted by local network operator.
HTTP/HTTPS authentication method is used.
This should be easy to reproduce for developers.
@Gwen-Dragon About the proxy: I'm not sure, but I'm pretty confident that the proxy is Squid.
@amppa You mean with the Basic Auth popup on dark background.
@amppa Ah, ok, i will add this to bugtracker.
@Gwen-Dragon "Authentication Required The proxy http://proxy.com:7777 requires a username and password. Your connection to this site is not private" reads in proxy authorization pop up which should appear when new window is created with link click "open in new window".
