Implement Mailto: ?

Are you going to allow the "mailto:" option from Vivaldi to open an external email client? I really need this and have to use FireFox or similar for this.
Thanks

It works for me in Firefox and IE. In Vivaldi, I get a new blank tab. So, what do I have to do to make it open an Outlook page?
Sorry, if this is simple for you, but it's not something I had to do for any other browser.

What is a Outlook page? The program Windows Outlook? Or the webmailer at website Outlook.com?
Sorry - I should have been more specific.
I mean the program "Outlook 2016" from the Office 2016 suite which I have installed on my PC. Also applies to other PC local email programs such as EM Client.

But Outlook should have registered itself as mail client.
Sorry if i do not remember the english Windwos 10 UI correctly!
On Windows you can Settings → Apps → Standard Apps
Below, at section protocols you can have a look if Outlook is registered for a protocol mailto.I assume it has done that because it works in Firefox and IE. I've just tested in Chrome and it works in that too. If you click on the link below and then click on the "click to email" on the LH side of the window, you will see what I mean.

@Gwen-Dragon
Thanks. This isn't a showstopper for me and Vivaldi, but it is something that for whatever reason, is done in other browsers, so its just an expected behavior when I surf. Hopefully at some point, this will get implemented in Vivaldi as well. For instance, Alan's mailto link opened up a blank tab in Vivaldi, but a Gmail compose window in Firefox.

@Gwen-Dragon Looks to be an issue with noopener and or noreferrer in @rel when @target is set to _blank. I'm assuming that in those cases, the mailto URL is lost when it comes to the context of the new tab and therefore the URL never gets invoked.

Is it fixable?

I'm sure it is. For now, you can use a workaround. Right-click and hold on the link and then gesture down up with the mouse/trackpad. This will load the mailto URL in a new tab and invoke it. Doing it this way bypasses the strictness that left-clicking has with noreferrer/noopener and target="_\blank".
