HTML5 MP4 stream not loading - website's or Vivaldi's problem?

  • Hello!
I switched to Vivaldi a few days ago, and so far the browser does everything i want and more, but with a certain website it has problems playing an HTML5 MP4 stream, HTML5 HLS works fine though.
    The website is https://picarto.tv
Just open a stream online at the time, and choose down right the MP4 option to test (if it is not there, some streams don't show it, just look at another one).
It should only show a play button doing nothing when clicked. Is it only me having this problem? If not, is it a problem by Vivaldi or is it something from the website?
    Thank you in advance!

  • As it was reported in this thread
    https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/13605/html5-mp4-issues/
seems like the only viable stream type there with Vivaldi is HLS, which they have set as default.

Ah, okay (strange, a quick search did not show that topic, thanks for that)
Problem with HLS is a big delay, so I'd prefer using MP4, but well, what's not possible isn't possible.
However I'd like to know the current state of the issue, has this issue been confirmed by the Vivaldi team? Is it something on their list to add?
(I looked for a bugtracker to find this by myself, but either there is none or I'm too stupid to search again^^)

Vivaldi has no bugtracker readable for the public.
If you want to reports bugs...

How to do a bugreport for Vivaldi
    Report the bug at https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/
Describe the issue as precise as you can.
If you use any extensions please give information which ones you use.
If you have a URL or a own testpage which can checked, add it to the bugreport.
If you have own testcase files (HTML, CSS, JS etc.) add them to the confirmation mail you get after report.
If you have a screenrecording video, you can attach it to give the developers a hint how this might happen or look like.
You will get a bug confirmation mail and in a reply to this mail you can add more information and files as attachments for the testers and bug tracking team.

Thanks in advance for helping us to make Vivaldi better!
