ClamAV is not updating
ClamAV is not updating, I managed to install ClamTK GUI w/ Yum. It appears to be a rights issue w/ freshclam?
I went cold turkey with Fedora 25 Linux w/ GNOME DE last weekend after dumping W7.... I hate being a noob again... I have been using MS since DOS+RunTime Windows... back in the Turbo XT Days.
I remember there must be a daily cron job to update the databases and a programm (freshclam) in shell to get the latest virus definitions.
clamav-freshclam is installed?
It been long I didn't touch ClamAV.
My knowledge is rotten.
Sorry, you mean updating the engines or updating the database?
GUI for ClamAV (such ClamTK) it self rarely update. I think it's never since years ago.
The freshclam.conf file itself denies all updates; even from terminal w/ ROOT access.
I install ClamAV plus ClamTK.
Because it's still new, I couldn't see/find any errors.
What error messages when you run
@> freshclamas root?
ERROR: Can't create temporary directory /var/lib/clamav/clamav-7f1d60324ac39ff77fb2bf1ee49b5498.tmp
However: # gedit /etc/freshclam.conf has no errors & I can edit the file in a Text Editor.
NOTE: I had to do a New F25 Install due to a update or me zapping some software?
ERROR: Can't create temporary directory /var/lib/clamav/clamav
Throw identical error to Google, it gave me two on top;

Anyway ClamTK appears to update now & Terminal is still temperamental with me...
