History feature - Non western weeks
-
The new history feature is great but to make it usable to people not from the western world, it'd be nice if we could set the start of the week. For example, the start of my week is on Sunday, not Monday.
I know it's a bunch of extra code and code is bugs, but hopefully this one makes the cut.

@acepace: The western world has, generally, two "first" days of the week - either Sunday or Monday, depending on your purpose or reference. It would be fitting to be able to set the History calendar to use either one as the "first" day of the week, much as many calendar apps do. I'm not aware of a culture that uses a different "first" day than Sunday or Monday. But I don't know everything.

@Ayespy -- I'm still waiting for Wednesday to be declared the start of the week. What could be better than beginning on hump-day, thus already running down to the weekend? Can't see any problem with that...
-
@Steffie: I think most of the law firms I deal with utilize a de-facto 3-day week. Monday is too early to be sufficiently recovered from the weekend (or even back into the office) to have a meeting or a hearing or do anything, and Friday is too lat to start anything, so their week runs from Tuesday to Thursday. Of course the staff are expected to be available 24-7 to take care of anything an attorney can't be present for (and I have one person at a law firm who sends me stuff to look at late every Sunday afternoon), but the lawyers are there bright-eyed and bushy-tailed from ten AM to four PM, three solid days every week.

Are you saying they don't have lunches???
-
@TbGbe: I would say they hardly take any breaks. No more than a 2-hour, 3-martini lunch each day.

The Mail and Calendar app in Windows 10 allows you to set any day of the week as the "first" day and that also made me wondering whether there are any cultures that use anything else besides Monday or Sunday. I haven't heard of any so far...
BTW. I love this argument that Sunday is a part of the weekEND after all...
