Feature requests for 1.9 / 1.10

@Al-Khwarizmi
I don't have problem with the request. The request make sense. For current, could I suggest to use "Close Tab on double click"?
I've done this when I also opt-in to not show close button. Plus, I also a regular of default Ctrl+w.That double click become a bad habit for me as I keep double clicking tabs everywhere.

Sortable web panels
@huy.dinh said in [Feature request] Sortable web panels:
Doesn't anyone ever feel like they want to sort or shuffle around their web panels, because of some OCD tendencies which demand that a certain panel needs to be above/below another certain one?
Or is there a not-so-intuitive workaround for this already? "Simple" drag and drop does not work and neither does pressing down some Magic Keys
whilst trying to drag and drop web panels.

Web panel icon/button vertical scroll
Yes while the alternative is to just disable some of your less used web-panels I feel it would be ideal if when the panel is focused as a whole you can cycle through all your web panel icons with both a scroll of the mouse wheel or with UP / DOWN arrow keys.
BUG: this suggestion would fix a bug I've noticed when too many web panels are loaded they get pushed outside of screen and the + becomes inaccessible due to being pushed down the screen too much...

@onenil The answer is: when it's ready. But they're working on it already.
-
Better tab popup thumbnail like Firefox Tab Scope
- Real-time preview of tab contents
- Navigate (Back/Forward/Reload/Stop) through popup
- Scroll pages or frames in preview with mouse wheel
- Click links or buttons directly in preview
- Automatically show preview for tabs opened in background
-
@dLeon,
Isn't a middle click (wheel click) easier and safer?
-
@MVV_
Ah yes, always forgot the middle little one.The base is, the default available already many options.
-
History monthly view idea - right-click on day, choice of deleting all of history for that particular day only.
-
Follower Tabs, like we had in Opera.
Open tab A. Create a Follower Tab ( tab B ). Any links clicked in tab A will open in tab B.
NiftySplit extension provides similar functionality, but only allows creation of a follower window, not a tab.
-
@dLeon Thanks for looking into this in more detail. I'm sure the Vivaldi team has quite enough to work on without opening a whole new section of complicated code, but it would be nice if they get to it some day.
I don't have Chromium installed. Maybe I will install it and file a request with them.

Sort Commands for Mouse Gestures Alphabetically
When assigning mouse gestures to commands, it would be much easier to find commands if they were sorted alphabetically.
-
Option to change color of the context menu
-
I'd like an "Open link here" mouse gesture that ignores the target attribute of the link.
We already have three "Open" actions in the context menu on a link:
- Open Link in New Tab
- Open Link in New Background Tab
- Open Link
(1) and (2) have corresponding mouse gestures, but (3) doesn't.
-
I'd like a global option to ignore the target attribute of the link.
If this is implemented, I wouldn't need the "Open Link" action in the context menu or the "Open link here" mouse gesture I proposed above.
(I can see that some people like the target attribute and so I'm not saying the target attribute is bad. I'm just saying I'd want to ignore it.)

@pafflick I can't believe only 5 up-votes. I don't like trying to hit the little triangle. I'd like opening the folder by clicking the folder.
-
@pafflick The triangle icons should be removed and their function replaced by the Open Folder/Closed Folder icons. Double-click on the text to edit the folder name as now.
-
Find in Page on the Bookmarks bar, like Opera 12 allowed:
I used this almost daily until yesterday when I started using Vivaldi over Opera 12. I miss it a lot. I don't like the extra bar that appears and uses up screen space just for a small text box that can be put elsewhere.
[edit] It could also go on the address bar between the address box and the extensions.
-
Search in page (CTRL + F) should act as FindBarTweak for firefox : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/findbar-tweak/
-
Please add an option for editing bookmarks (Delete, Rename and so on) directly in folders on the bookmarks bar. Currently right-clicking on any bookmark in a folder just opens it in another tab.
I can edit it only from bookmarks menu on a side panel, which is quite uncomfortable sometimes.
