Feature requests for 1.9 / 1.10

@opera6rules
I really miss this feature too! -
@RammsteinAM
I would rather go for the possibility to customize menus entirely in the settings. Requested already i the forum elsewhere. -
Guest profile for better user data protection
I know only one browser with this feature - Maxthon. In a nutshell if you don't use auto login, you have browser protected via password. It means that you will see your passwords, notes, bookmarks and other settings if you enter your password only. Other users can work in browser, but in guest profile with own settings. No one can see user data from guest profile.
Many MX users don't notice this, but this is really useful and they understand it if change browser only. And this is the only way to protect your browser what I know. Many people ask about this.
Other browsers protect user data only online. But if you work on one PC with somebody else no one key (like in new Opera) can not save you from other people's eyes. Because your data is here already and your partner / neighbor / wife can see your browseing histore, read your notes and use your passwords.

The ability to sync settings across multiple computers.
-
@paecificjr: in progress.
-
@zaibon That's what I was attempting to describe in my first comment with "after a certain period of time."
But you did a much better job at clarifying.
-
@Mattonius I have also thought about this. I don't understand why this feature missing in Vivaldi if Chromium already has it in the tab context menu.
There is also a problem when user choose Tab Muting > "Play Only in Active Tab" or "Prioritize Active Tab". The background tabs which start playing audio, are audible for very short time (less than 1 second) before they will be automatically muted by Vivaldi. In some cases this is really annoying, because some pages play very short sounds (like notification sounds) and for such cases this feature in Vivaldi is almost useless.
If Chromium allows to mute tabs before they'll play a sound, why Vivaldi does not mute previously all background tabs when "Play Only in Active Tab" is selected?

@julioc1984 Wow good job, it's awesome.

@Semenov-Sherin,
I think you can read this topic, there is a way how to create your own profile and leave default one for guests. -

It would be nice if there was an icon to pin open the find dialog so it would stay open with the same words in the input field when you switch to a different tab. This would be very helpful when you're searching a large number of tabs for the same words instead of having to open it for each one.
The F3 keyboard shortcut is what you're looking for, I think.
Thanks, but no, the F3 key cycles to the next match on the current page. What I'm asking for is a way for the find dialog to stay open when switching to another tab.
-
@Blueridge What difference would it make?
As it is, after switching to the next tab, you have to press F3, which searches the next tab for the same word. If the Find Toolbar was already open, you will still need to press F3 to find the next occurrence of the search string.
-
@Boombastic What is the improvement? The left one (before) is much easier to read!
-
@MVV_, yea. But I talk about password protection.

Enlarging screenshot in CTRL+TAB
It would be easier to read which image is selected and if the enlarging also considered the side images, it would accelerate the cycling to choose which tab you want. Look this example, after and before :

If someone always uses the keyboard shortcut I guess it might not make any difference. Often however I prefer to do things with the mouse for various reasons.
Another reason is that if you already have old different search terms in other tabs then switching to a tab and using F3 will just search with the old term. What I suggested is that when the find dialog is pinned it will override whatever is typed into the other tabs.
It would also allow, once pinned, for the find dialog to just stay open in all tabs including new tabs, rather that having to keep opening it again and again.
The main reason though is that like a lot of things it's just a matter of personal preference.

Bookmark Bar Options
Options to place your bookmark bar bookmarks to the right or to center them (center being my favorite).

I red through most of the thread so I hope it is not already written down somewhere.
Ability to expand and minimize Tab Groups

You don't actually need to read the whole thread, you can search the Feature Requests forum using the Search too. I found this, which is essentially the same requests, though it is not clear which aspects of Opera 12 tab-stacking that Stardust wants. Expand/collapse is one aspect of how they behave.

@matiasmovie There is a possibility to reopen these tabs by using the trash bin icon on the right side in tab bar.
-
floating panel
possibility to open panel floating (but switching buttons bar is fixed on left/right side), that it is over the webpage an the webpage does not become narrower (if it's not enough space after opening panel side bar, some responsive sites switching to tablet mode).
floating panel should closed automatically if it looses the focus.
