Browser history tab bug
Tested on latest release build for Windows 10:
- Open your browser history using CTRL-H
- Use the search facility to find an existing entry
- Right-click and choose 'Open link in new tab'
When you click back on the tab for your browser history, the history tab is reset and you loose the search results. You have to re-enter the search criteria and search again to list the historical pages.
The history tab should not get reset.
@Fairlight Which version of Vivaldi are you using? This does not happen here.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit • Snapshot 1.8.770.32
@Pesala 1.7.735.46 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
1.7 stable still use Chromium/Chrome history page. I don't even remember that page act that way.
1.8 onward already use Vivaldi New History Page.
So... well, if you're not in snapshot path, rumor in translator thread/mailing list mentioned that 1.8 stable will out around this week.
@dLeon So you're saying I'll have to wait for 1.8 to be release.
@zaibon Thanks but I'll wait for the stable release.
@Fairlight You can download the latest Snapshot (link) and install it as "standalone" (so that it doesn't interfere with your current installation) just to check out the new history page - it's been completely reworked. You can also check out other new features while you're at it. Once you're done, you can easily get rid of that Snapshot by simply removing the folder in which it was installed. 😉
Thanks @pafflick the new history feature is excellent.
Thank you .
