Vivaldi won't install (on XP)
jbclem last edited by Gwen-Dragon
I'm a new user trying to install Vivaldi on WinXP. When I try to run the installation file that I just downloaded, I get this error message for setup.exe: the procedure entry point ReleaseSRWLockExclusive could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.
I tried searching for this in your forum but the search function searched for every SINGLE word in the search phrase so that didn't work.
Can someone help me with this problem?

searching for ReleaseSRWLockExclusive finds the multiple threads where it's stated that vivaldi doesn't support XP anymore since a long time, one for example

Vivaldi is based on the chrome-code and Chrome dropped XP support last year - so the last working stable version of vivaldi for win XP is Vivaldi 1.0.
You can find it on https://vivaldi.com/download/ when you scroll down to the part "Windows XP/Vista"*.
Please note: This is an outdated version without any further support (a bit likewise XP itself)

@zaibon Thanks for the information. I'll try the earlier version since I'm not giving up WinXP.
