auto-dropdown search engine

  • As we are writing in Vivaldi's search engine box, make the drop down search menu visible so we can just click in our target engine, instead of having to click the down arrow and then select the search engine

  • I prefer it like this now! I did not like it when Mozilla did this with Firefox.
    But it would be nice to have this option for the user, check this option in the settings for example.
    You can leave this request here! :relaxed: - Feature requests for 1.8 / 1.9

    Isn't it will be faster if we're using nickname? And allowing search in address bar. We could also get rid search box by using that, & safe a lot of bar space.

    My Google search engine nickname is "go", so I would do
    go go go power ranger in address bar.
    go to he11

    Or Yandex nickname "yan".
    yan go go power ranger.
    Sound kinky.

    Okay, that's serious & joking in same time.
    Follow @JuniorSilva30 suggestion to place your request in Feature requests for 1.8 / 1.9 if you really want it.

  • @JuniorSilva30
    As it is now takes an extra step.
    Yes, I'll move the suggestion

    @dLeon
    Faster, unless you have a lot of search engines, then you'll have to memorize a lot of nicknames.
    Maybe I'll suggest a mix of the 2: get rid of the searchbar and have just the URL bar where if you type something like this "fnd <whatever-text-comes-here>" he will drop down a list of our search engines so we can pick one after we write the search parameters. Also direct shortcuts (like your "go") would work too

  • Ok, how do I move this? :P
    Or do I have to delete and make a new one in the other thread?

    @Pedro0073: I'll move it.

  • @Ayespy
    Thanks :-)
