New snapshot of Vivaldi is ready for download!

  • Vivaldi Team

Hi, We have a new snapshot of Vivaldi ready for you guys. Check it out: https://vivaldi.net/en-US/blogs/entry/snapshot-1-0-98-2 Christian, Vivaldi Technologies

  • Thanks.

  • [Vivaldi 1.0.98.2 stand alone - W7x64]

After installation again complete session lost and all 30 tabs closed. I have to reopen them again one by one. :(

  • Excellent! :)

I like the idea of the customizable address bar. But maybe there is a small inconvenience when turning the address bar completely off: There is no more indication whether a http or a https connection is used.
Maybe you could put somewhere a small indicator for this? For example in the tooltip of a tab. Or show a small lock next to the favicon when hovering over secure tabs…

Also the flickering of tab thumbnails (when it was updated at tab switch) is gone now .
But I think the thumbnail image should be updated on leaving a tab, instead of entering (otherwise it shows an old page state as a preview).

    • bug, I click the add bookmark icon on the right of the address bar to add a new bookmark, a window pops up which allow me to select "save, delete, cancel" . I selected cancel, but the bookmark was still added
    • webpage seem to load much faster now. In the past, I noticed the loading bar seem to hang a while before the webpage load at all. Now it seem like the first few bits of webpage seem to appear much quicker while the rest loading later
    • needed a option to single click a bookmark to load in bookmark panel. I hate having to double click
    • enable middle mouse click on bookmark in bookmark panel to open up the bookmark in new tab

  • Search with keyword does not work any more (Windows 8.1).

  • zero in settings window:

Not confirmed here (win 10 x64)

  • http:// or https:// or whatever is used, should be added to the beginning of the URL when copying the address from the addresbar. :)

  • Still this ugly look, uninstalling…

Well it's a technical preview, and a weekly snapshot at that, you gotta expect things like that to happen.

  • I do not complaint at all, just reporting problem and providing workaround.

I don't understand your solution. Can you explain please?

    @Sajadi:

yeah, keyword search does not work on Windows 8 - i confirm that this is happening - Well, that's the beauty of technical previews… you never know what will happen :D

Interesting. Works for me here on Win 8.1 X64. Must be just some systems…

In words: at the end (or bottom if you have moved tab bar to a side of the UI) of the tab bar is a "trashcan" icon with your recently closed tabs. Yours closed session, one tab at a time, is in there. You can open each tab of the session from there and for most of them, it will open in the state it was when it was closed.

Cannot confirm (well/though, it was 5 tabs only). Even better, the Vivaldi.net sessions now really are valid across tabs, Yet even better, the sessions are - edit: mostly - staying across Vivaldi sessions.

Additionally, page loading has become a bit more snappy, imo.

Good progress! :clap :clap :clap :)

My sessions have only been disappearing after system shutoff. When I turn the machine on in the morning, Vivaldi (thru today at least) has forgotten its size and position on screen, and its tabs.

I won't know of that's fixed until I shut the system down again.
