Failing to open documents, radio stream

  • Hi there, I'm unable to open documents (.docx, .xlsx etc.) with google-docs. I can visualize from an email, but I can't edit ... the browser opens an empty tab.

    One other ... online radio stream does not start, at least on this site - http://www.predavatel.com/bg/play/n-joy_live

    @StefanIvanov
    Editing *.docx & *.xlsx at Google Docs just work for me.

    That radio site also work.

    What Vivaldi version you have/try?

    Look at the method for installing non-free html5 playback codecs for your Linux distro.
    In Ubuntu I just install chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra.

    glen@Xen2:~$ apt show chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra

     This package contains the multi-threaded ffmpeg codecs needed for the HTML5
     <audio> and <video> tags. In addition to the patent-free ogg, vorbis and

     chromium-codecs-ffmpeg if you prefer only the patent-free codecs

  • @dLeon I've just downloaded it from the official website. Currently using Fedora 25 64bit.

    I can create a new spreadsheet and then open an existing one. When I try to view a received document and then select "edit with Google docs" it just opens a blank tab. I've tried it at the office today on a Windows machine ... same result.

  • @CantankRus thanks for the tip .... I'll see how it is done in Fedora 25 and send a feedback

    @StefanIvanov
    I tried to directly open/upload docs & xlsx to Google Docs or upload the documents to Google Drive first then Preview + Edit (seem as you did). I still could edit the documents either way.

    I can create a new spreadsheet and then open an existing one.

    If I'm not mistaken here, I see you actually could open other documents. Did you mean a specific document come up empty? Does it open in other browsers?
    If it's not confidential document you actually could share the link.

    Also, check if it's one of your extensions cause this. Disable all of them, then enable one by one to test.

    Never tried Fedora but looks like one of these repos is what you need.

    1. https://rpmfusion.org/
    2. https://unitedrpms.github.io/

    I don't know if I'm doing it right .... I'll post links with a video soon

  • @CantankRus I think I have both .... need to double-check
