Can't Log-In on my Laptop



  • I have tried to change my password on my mail and my account but I'm locked out of both on my laptop. All I'm getting is an error. I've had an account here for two years and I'm scared to log out on my desktop as I probably won't be able to log back in. It's a good job I don't have to rely on Vivaldi Mail.

    Log out from Vivaldi forum or Log out from your desktop computer session?

    @Davaldi: Vivaldi had to close some sessions and remove passwords:

    Try clearing cookies and perhaps cache and then try to change password again? Hopefully your profile contact email is not vivaldi.net...

    Nothing works, and I don't even know if my password was changed or not. If I sign out on my desktop computer (I'm on now) I doubt I'll get back in. This is a bit of a disaster.



  • Plus, I can't log-in on other browsers on my desktop now either as it won't recognise my password. This is the only account I can open it at. All I can say that it's been a good two years but I'm glad I kept GMail. This is an unmitigated disaster.

    Because it seem you're like me using GMail as 1st mail account here.
    And also you're clear all cookies & sites data.

    I can't log-in on any browser (apart from Vivaldi on my desktop) even when I created a new browser profile in Chrome specifically to try to log-in to Vivaldi Mail.

  • Oh yeah, 'recover password' doesn't work either.

    There's a talk like this in translation private forum. The person in trouble seem contacting/PM the mods or something. His/Her problem is probably more severe, as his/her main mail here already change to (username)@vivaldi.net. Imagine where "Recover password" mail will go.

    At least @Ayespy above already know yours here.

    I hope yours also could be fix in no time.

  • I've also discovered this morning that i'm locked out of my Vivaldi webmail account. I did the Password Recovery bizzo per https://login.vivaldi.net/profile/id/validate, & the page responded "Password recovery information has been sent to the email registered with the account Steffie", but i've still not received anything. Hmmm...



  • @Steffie When I try Vivaldi Webmail, I am logged in - BUT then it displays "Unknown Error Occurred" when trying to view inbox etc.
    Contacts and Calendar do NOT report an error :confused:

    But I don't think it is the Cloudfare problem as I joined a long time before the affected dates (and I did not see any notification - unless it was sent to Vivaldi Webmail :laughing: ).



  • @TbGbe -- I was already logged into V webmail this morning [semi-permanently actually, as i Suspend my Tower overnights, not SD] & didn't initially notice anything amiss, til Thunderbird whinged to me that my V POP3 credentials had been rejected. It was only then that i looked at the actual webmail portal [given i usually do all my emails with TB/POP3], tried to synch it, got that same error msg, started looking in the Forum & found this thread. Sadly, i tried logging out of V webmail, which was then that it also began telling me:

    Since issuing that Password Recovery request & still having no reply, i decided to independently test what i think is the backup account i'd used. Irritatingly its webmail portal is also rejecting me [is it something i said?], but conversely TB test emails to & from that account are still working just fine.

    What to do...? Maybe i need to PM Gaelle etc?

    I had no problems logging into forum, only Webmail so was puzzled.
    In the end I gave up and did it myself.

    • I logged out of Webmail AND the forums
    • Used the recover password link on Forum login to set NEW password
    • My recovery mail worked
    • Logged back into Webmail and Forum

    Even though I don't know what happened - everything now works.
    So I have no need to report it, thanks anyway @gaelle :hugging:



  • @gaelle -- Hi, ha, ironic! I had only submitted my Bug Report at the Tracker by a few minutes when, like magic, my waiting-all-day-for-it password reset email arrived, & so now my webmail is all good again. Thanks for solving it.
