start issue - vivaldi only starts once

  • Hi,

I'm using vivaldi on several linux installs (2 arch & 1 mint).
On one archlinux system, vivaldi only starts when ~/.config/vivaldi does not exist (no matter if I change configs or not).

after starting vivaldi the second time, processes are started :

    mikael 2469 2461 0 12:06 ? 00:00:00 /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-sandbox /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-bin --type=zygote
    mikael 2470 2469 0 12:06 ? 00:00:00 /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-bin --type=zygote
    mikael 2472 2470 0 12:06 ? 00:00:00 /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-bin --type=zygote
    mikael 2502 2461 0 12:06 ? 00:00:00 /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-bin
    mikael 2504 2461 2 12:06 ? 00:00:00 /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-bin --type=gpu-process --supports-dual-gpus=false --gpu-driver-bug-workarounds=7,10,19,23,41,48,52,61,65,71,82,84,90 --disable-gl-extensions=GL_NV_path_rendering --gpu-v
    mikael 2507 2472 0 12:06 ? 00:00:00 /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-bin --type=renderer --enable-blink-features=ResizeObserver --primordial-pipe-token=A8F03F82161133589B142E653B99A6BC --lang=fr --extension-process --enable-offline-auto-r
    mikael 2510 2472 0 12:06 ? 00:00:00 /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-bin --type=renderer --enable-blink-features=ResizeObserver --primordial-pipe-token=327583B6E642B80130022BC8F37CA4CC --lang=fr --extension-process --enable-offline-auto-r
    mikael 2525 2504 0 12:06 ? 00:00:00 /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi-bin --type=gpu-broker

The same issue happens both with xfce and fluxbox.

Given vivaldi works fine on the other arch install, I'm wondering if there's some display driver involved in this issue ? On the hardware side, I'm using an old nvidia card with nvidia driver (version 304xx)

% lspci 00:0d.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation C61 [GeForce 6150SE nForce 430] (rev a2)

Any idea about how to debug that ?

    Regards
    Mikael

    Hello,

As a sidenote, I tried removing .cache/vivaldi which randomly helped starting vivaldi, but the same issue is still present.
