Thanks for the update. I was thinking it should be here by now.
- Selection of text in links is much easier now.
- Open link in same tab will be popular with many users.
- The history panel has returned. Great!

The link is broken...

"Add option to set home page to startpage (VB-25082)" - FINALLY it happened! Thanks for this!
-
"Add Send link by mail from context menus (VB-25645)" --> ooh, that sounds interesting... 1.8.755.3 isn't in the repos yet, so i can't check it out myself at the moment.

@steffie: Linux repo should be live in a few minutes
-
@Aronand -- thanks, Gawd i love you people enough to have your babies!
-
Now I can see where I spend most of my time.
-
No context menus or other menus visible on Windows 10 build 15031.
Anyone else having this problem? -
There's so much progress that I'm really impressed by this release. Great job, you've proved once again that you actually listen to us. I've taken some effort to list all the features from the Feature Request thread that has been added in this release. Thank you!
-
- Let a background tab keep playing sound, as long as the active does not
- Make option for graying/shading hibernated tabs (VB-25337)
- Not possible to select text of a link as drag and drop is triggered: bundle Select-Like-A-Boss (VB-9048)
You guys are amazing! I love Vivaldi! ^.^
-
@dLeon The difference is that the second option will play audio in a background tab, but it'll mute it as soon as there's anything playing in the active tab.

@jonmc
A warning to all mac users! If you click check for update to initiate the snapshot update, instead of the 1.8 snapshot you will be updated to 1.7 stable. Gladly I had a backup of my Vivaldi installation to go back to the last 1.7 snapshot, but I would recommend NOT to update until this is fixed. -
Don't update if you are on osx, you will be updated to 1.7 stable instead of 1.8 snapshot. If you have no backup of your vivaldi installation you will be unable to go back to the snapshot releases after this!!
-
@Gwen-Dragon That's why I mentioned the build.
Tried 1.7 stable and same behaviour.
Menus are here but not visible. I can still select the menu items with the arrow keys and enter but don't know what will happen because I don't see anything. -
@luetage Hm, thats weird, we just double checked everything here, and it works here. Also that should not be possible. Are you 100% sure you didn't just update from a previous stable version?
-
@em-a-il: Make sure to report the bug to Microsoft as it sounds like a Win10 bug.
-
@luetage: sorry about that!
Which OSX are you using? I just tested it twice on 10.12.3 and it went fine. -
It's nice to now have the black V icon back, & that About no longer pretends to be the Stable stream -- that previous repos-update was a bit strange!

@steffie: we made a mistake this functionality will work once Vivaldi Mail is released so we removed it from the changelog to avoid further confusion.
